Its over guys

Yeah, cheer up, that's not going to happen. I don't know why people insist on this. The sun is not going to explode. It'll be puffing itself up and expand when the shell burning starts and then fizzle out, leaving a white dwarf behind. But it'll definitely not go supernova since the sun lacks the mass to do so.
