While interesting, this view is no longer considered the most likely. There is a general consensus among historians that while pagan beliefs did get added, the originating holiday was not in fact from those pagan beliefs. Don't get me wrong. There were and are Pagan holidays that occur around Easter and many were celebrated by the very same people that celebrated Easter. So it's possible that people blended holidays together. But, as stated, it's now generally not a holiday considered to have derived from a Pagan one.
