You cant taste the salt and vinegar if the fries are soaked with ketchup. Having it on the side gives you an opportunity to choose.

People who soak their ketchup onto their fries are people you shouldn't socialize with...

I hate it when a friend that is the first type offers me fries and I'm like "NO! KEEP YOUR FUCKING BUTCHERED WASTE OF AN EXCUSE FOR FRENCH FRIES!"

The first kind are the worst way to eat your fries I don't know anyone who likes to do that

The first way has no logic. I mean, you're more likely to get it on your fingers, and it tastes about the same either way.

I'm the third type: I do both. I cover my fries with ketchup so they will soak it in, and I eat some as I wait.
