I have that problem every Halloween. Why can't there be more black anime characters that everybody likes.

You can do really tanned characters like Aoi from Dangan Ronpa

If crossplay is okay, so is trans-racial cosplay. I've seen some awesome costumes at conventions by people depicting all sorts of characters that look nothing like the person. Just go for it and have fun.

Asian women seem not to give a **** about cosplaying white characters (and also the other way around), but I appreciate your racial awareness - a clear sign of good taste.

I want to do some cosplays, but I'm a teenager and my mom won't let me because she thinks it's ridiculous and stupid to spend so much money on one that I "probably will never wear again" *rolls eyes*

If it's her money, I get where she's coming from. Why don't you start by making simple costumes out of materials from thrift stores and dollar stores? That way you can build your experience and skill until you can afford to buy more expensive parts yourself.

..... Actually it's gift money. I mostly want to get the stuff over amazon. I want to do a steampunk cosplay, and I have done extensive research on corsets, and there is one that I want. A few months ago she said maybe, then recently I brought it up again and she says "No, that's ridiculous!" It's just frustrating because she's falling through with all of her promises regarding these things

If it's your money and she'd already agreed, that's another matter. A maybe is not a promise though. Is there anyone else who can make the online purchase on your behalf?

What she said was to wait and we'd go to older shops when we visit her cousin to look for Victorian style clothes. But we never did and it's too late now. I have my own account on amazon. I want to buy it, but mentally I'm kinda still in sixth grade with my mom so I always have to ask her if I can buy something

Grow the fuck up it’s a character you can dress like them if you want. Stop being such a wimp and embrace your love for them by showing the world that skin color shouldn’t factor in when you want to do something epic. God you’d probably look nice as them and not receive any negative comments based on skin color. Honestly the only time I’ve ever seen anyone get angry over a person dressing as a different race is when the person is white
