When searching for a job

You mean a way to get experience. Without the benefits of being paid.

I volunteered for 6 weeks at my current workplace. I got to know the staff and routines pretty well, and was hired because of the volunteering.

In England they offer a week off school for work experience in year 10. They check out the work place to see if it's safe for you to work and everything. I don't know about anywhere else but... (:

Not at my fucking school they don't. Say it wastes precious learning time.
