Because when you're alive your body's tell your muscles not to work too hard so you don't hurt yourself and explode chips everywhere.

It's because your brain limits its use to 10% everyday, and we can actually lift cars and shit. It's just our brain limiting us and when you're a zombie, it's jusst instinct and the wanting of food.
