Well maybe the powerpuff girls died and out of grief the professor created a time machine and transported himself to the past to try to start a new life away from townsville and all the memories.

what i see is that jack is the professors great ancestor and if jack wasn`t in the present timeline there would be no professor therefore no ppgs and the city of townsville would of never been saved

Jack is the professors decendant after the powerpuff girls died and the world went in to chaos because akuuu killed them and he was elected to be king
