We did something similar when we rescued a 5 week old feral kitten. We used a tent as her playground with one of us sitting either in the tent with her or right outside the tent door. She was so tiny if we let her play outside the tent she would climb up into furniture and hide.

I used a smaller version for my cat while vacuuming. In the meantime, she'd unzipped it from the inside and was chilling in the corner of the room.
