Canadian.
Most survival movies that thrill and terrify American audiences are filmed in places we camp in. "Oh, Alec Baldwin and Tony Hopkins are struggling against the elements? I dropped acid and crushed beers there last summer".
It's not stupid. If he wants to do it let him. How is it affecting you? Maybe he's challenging himself. Maybe he just wants to see if he can do it. Maybe he's trying to accomplish something. Maybe he's doing it for the beauty or adrenaline. Maybe he just wants do it before he dies. He's doing what a lot of people can't. He's exploring places that not very many people have. I have heard of him but don't know much about him. You're in danger every time you wake up in the morning. You're in danger every time you go to sleep at night. You can trip and break and arm when walking down the street. Someone can sneak in your house and kill you why'll you sleep. It doesn't take much for you to get hurt. Just getting a scratch is risking your life. It could get infected. A number of things could happen from that. It seems so unlikely that your going to get cancer, murdered, struck by lightning, get in a car crash and die, drown etc. but it's actually amazing that you're alive at all
LOL conqueror, your logic failed you the minute you said that he's putting himself in a situation he could die. He's not just some guy, he has trained for this and has the knowledge and experience to not only survive, but teach his viewers how they can also survive while he does it. That's the whole point of the show.
But go ahead and bask in your delusion that people only downthumbed you because you speak the truth...
P.S. My heart is gladdened at the Les support on FS. His is the only survival show I've ever watched, and it seems to be for the same reasons that you all love it. Whodathunk?
Well conqueror that was random and uncalled for. I agree with Mgoviea. Sometimes he has plain rude comments but this time his comment was right and you had it coming. I'm pretty sure that you were the only person who disliked his comment and I liked it so it doesn't matter anymore.
So you agree with the person who said my logic failed when I said he could die and the person that said les stroud has experience Bear Grylls has almost the same training as a navy seal les stroud could be attacked by an animal or trip and fall and break his leg and then die that could all be prevented if he brought along a team what happens if he can't get enough food and then he dies Bear Grylls shows you situations that you can get into without the risk of dying for someone who probably won't even use the knowledge because they'll probably be sitting on their couches watching him or Miley Cyrus twerk
That's exactly why les stroud is so flipping awesome. He's putting himself in situations where most people would be dead already. Mgoviea said that your logic failed when you said that he's putting himself in situations where he could die. He has training and knows what to do in challenging situations and therefore is most likely not going to die. The very first comment on this picture even says that he has a support crew near by in case of emergency's. If he finds himself in a situation where he thinks he's gunna die than he has back up. The picture says Bear gryllis has been known to stay at hotels. How do we even know that stuff he does works if he doesn't actually use them in any helpful way? It says that in one episode they ordered a raft that all he had to do was put it together. How do we know that he could really even make a raft if he didn't even try but instead ordered one? If he didn't even try than how do we know that it could even be done in the place that he was?
Some of the things bear gryllis supposedly does may be helpful in some situations but we don't know because he's not really in any real danger. Les stroud is better because he IS actually in danger and IS really fighting to survive.
Mgoveia, I have never agreed with you before but you are dead on in this argument. Les would never have to stay at a hotel because hes a trained professional who dosn't feel the need to drag along a crew of film makers and other junk that isn't essential to his ultament survival.
Do you think people watch those shows to learn about survival?! They watch it because its entertaining; to risk your life for others entertainment is pointless and stupid
I watch Survivorman to learn about "survival".
I like nature and camping and whatnot, so it's nice to know a few things that might help me out in case something goes awry.
I loved Steve Irwin before he died. And he died doing what he loved. You can't blame him for his death by saying that if he had a team he wouldn't be dead. That's not fair at all.

Too bad opinions aren't treated good on fun substance.. (sigh..)
