Ik it was 5 years ago but... most of our oxygen comes from algae on the surface of the ocean. If it wasn't there even if the entire surface of the earth, ground wise, had trees planted it wouldn't produce enough oxygen to make an atmosphere.

I did this expirement for an ecology project in school and got 104% cause my teacher loved it
