But it's good, in a way, that Iroh's son died. If he hadn't, Iroh would've gone on with the plan to conquer Ba Sing Se and it would've been overthrown sooner and more people would've died. Plus Iroh would have never changed into the wise, old man that we all know and love and he would have remained hateful and greedy and violent, much like his brother, Ozai.
Very true, but it's still very sad to think that a great guy like him, who can take a "fat old man joke" with ease, while we want to smack the person who made it, and does nothing but help people in any sort of way, has that much sadness.
