Wait wait wait what the fuck, so the guest who said pretty much the same thing as this got mauled and slaughtered for doing so, and this guy is actually in positive likes?
Personally, even though I do have respect for people risking their lives for their county, this website isn't designed for these kinds of posts. *Puts on flame retardant jacket*
Fuck that. I have to shift through so many posts about cats, TV shows I've never even heard of, an excessive amount of Pokemon and even my little pony or whatever the fuck. Depression and even suicide from high schoolers who down themselves because not everything in their lives is completely perfect. But a post comes along that takes on the issues and people say "This shouldn't be on here" This site really just feels like the introverted version of Facebook
Yeah, but best case, it's kind of preaching to the choir. Worst case, like the other guy said, is like-whoring.
Better to donate your time or money to help the vets our country conveniently "forgot" after their service. Many are homeless, mentally/physically disabled, lack skills for employment, etc. That is, if you honestly want to make a difference, and not just have your online persona appear to.
murders kill for stupid things, but vets kill for our freedom. I get that many of you think that this shouldn't be on here but you never know that behind that computer of phone screen we maybe, just maybe made one's day or just made them smile.<3
Hmm. You dun goofed now.
.
Veterans and the families of Veterans from more than one nation use this site and you just took a giant shit on their service. Way to go.
.
Not to mention you also necroposted this on a year old post.
You should thank a veteran personally, like send a letter, give them a call, or in person. Facebook, Instagram, and twitter are NOT apropriate. People just only care about likes... It's sad.
True, but if you don't know a veteran, if you don't get to meet one, I think it's okay to express your thanks in a general format.
Like realizing that, hey, this freedom thing is pretty awesome and saying on twitter or Facebook that although you haven't met them in person, you are appreciative of their service.
