Im here to tell you there are very few people in the US who care about soccer. I love playing the game but watching is boring. Besides who gives a fuck if someone calls something different? And remember that the US is a melting pot of cultures so its not our fault, it's the other countries fault.
Thank you, fine fellow guest above me. To you, fellow guest two spots up, you fail to realize that the word the player calls the sport is in no way connected to or acquainted with their skill. For you to have the nerve to say that these particular people suck deems you stupid. Try going out there and playing against a pro soccer player. Then we will see who really sucks. And also, for emphasis, remember to always capitalize the first letter of a sentence, and put a period at the end once you have finished. That, my friend, is proper grammar in case you were wondering.
Whoa! you do get offended easily huh ?
Well fellow guest, USA and Canada suck at this sport, it is a fact (not talking about the women's team). Men at those countries just don't care, not enough to even say the proper name, the original one. I've never said that the way the palyer calls the sport is related with their skills. It is a cultural thing, the lack of passion perhaps. They are doing something wrong, starting with the name (which IS a big deal) and when you realize that, you'll be better.
cheers,
I believe your argument is invalid. The points you make have no sense whatsoever. I am not fazed by your feeble attempt at trying to make your opinion a fact. The U.S. team is actually a rather well rounded team, ranking 13th in the world. They have also qualified for several World Cups. Although they are not the best in the world, they do have passion. Stating that they are doing something wrong is your opinion entirely, but it is not because they lack a caring trait. I do not think the name of the sport they work hard to perfect says that they are doing something wrong. Are we judged by the rest of the world because we are different? Are we judged because of what we call the sport? That does not imply that we are doing anything wrong. We are simply playing the sport, along with everyone else.
With respect,
Your Fellow Guest
I apologize to everyone else for our rather immature fight on what to call the sport. I understand that this is supposed to be "Funsubstance". I guess people (us guests in particular) can get pretty fed up on this sort of thing.
(what was that sarcasm font again?)
