I like that. I would like to see more people stop referring to themselves as different or not normal. I mean come on what is normal? What I always thought was normal people have sometimes turned out to be the querkiest. I would like to see the day when everyone brags about being unique. I think that is the most accurate statement.
The average teenage girl (not from the media's perspective) is basically becoming a girl who spends a lot of time on the internet, plays video games, likes cats and food, and basically see themselves as the 'outcasts' in society. That is the real average teenage girl. So for someone like that to say they are different from the other girls is just very wrong in what the average teenage girl really is. As a matter of fact, every teenage girl I've ever met is how I described.
Ah, I have to respectfully disagree. I think you are doing a real disservice to girls by generalizing them all like that. I think everyone loves food (we kind of have to, biologically) and animals (unless you're allergic) but beyond that the differences are endless. I have never once met a girl or woman who was just like another.
Teenage girls especially have whole complex worries, fantasies, ambitions, etc. going on every second-- they are beautiful, complicated creatures that can't be summed up in one or two sentences. Existing in this society, with these pressures and demands makes today's teenager more adaptive, creative, and complex than I or my generation had to be.
Teenage girls are not simple- because no woman is merely simple.

I have met girls who were just like another, quite a few times. But that is going by what the average teenage girl seems like, judging from statistics. You're definitely right that they are not simple, and are very complicated with their own different fantasies, ambitions, thoughts, etc. however, I wouldn't say all of them are beautiful, I'm sure there are some really bad ones. I also humbly disagree with teenagers becoming more adaptive and creative as a whole. I do agree on complex, though. But that is just how I see it, I don't want to start a flame war, and I respect your view.
I would say this is true.... But unfortunatelly i know a LOT of girls that are like that (backstabbing, appearance- obsessed, etc). I don't know if it was always like this or if being a teenage girl and having friends is getting really hard
What: Behavior. They need to prove it with mature behavior that defies and contradicts the media assumption and steriotype.
.
Who: Everyone. Their freinds, family, peers, acquaintances, chance encounters... the world in general.
.
How: Constantly. Continuous appropriate mature behavior that is not a facade, not an act, proof that the media assumptions are indeed a lie for the gullible. Lies for the gullible to commercially brainwash them in order to sell jewelry, perfume & cosmetics, flowers and other miscellanea, either through direct purchase or by the gifting of a significant other.
.
It must be pointed out that "mature" behavior does not preclude playing like children for having fun. It does however preclude living up to steriotypes, as doing so is acting childish.
It also does not negate or eliminate the giving of gifts... When they are thoughtful and have meaning. Not contrived fulfilments of steriotypes.
I understand where you are coming from with this summary- and I could see it as something a boy/man would list as "conditions and terms" for respecting a girl or a woman. The idea that women have to "prove" themselves to be none stereotypical is flawed from the outset- these stereotypes and definitions are placed on them by the exact people who say only when they "prove" they're not 'gullible to the commercial brainwashing' can they be taken seriously. The system is rigged.
The point of the post is to show women, girls to there is no "other" girl- we are all other girls and we are all in this together. It's not about having to prove anything, it's about realizing what you already are, and that you are not alone.
Thats the point, the post how I understood it was about the girls that say there not and are anyway. They just become what everybody thinks they are, and to me thats not a personality. To me a personality is something you develop yourself, and while it does have outside influences, they should be unique
So that makes me like most girls out there, correct?
Cool
