My dog ate chocolate once and he survived. I had already started crying, I was sure he was going to kick the bucket!

It causes kidney damage so the damage is cumulative (builds up over time) unless they have a massive amountin one go which might kill them quicker. So you can look forward to a long period of suffering for your dog at the end of its life because of its chocolate habit.

My dog has eaten an entire box of chocolate chip cookies, a bag of dark chocolate Hershey Kisses, and halloween candy, yet she's perfectly healthy. And before you ask, no we don't feed it to her, she steals them in the middle of the night.

I used to work for a vet and he said people overreact to this. He said, no it's not the best for them, but it's not like poison.

The vet I take my dogs to says that it's more dangerous for smaller dogs, but not fatal unles it's pure cocoa or a whole lotta chocolate.

Yeah its not technically a poison; it causes kidney damage instead, which is why smaller dogs suffer more.

It's not like they drop dead if they eat it.

My dog ate a big bag of Rolos that I got for Christmas last year and he was fine. Fat... But fine

Raw meat isn't the best for them, though. Causes them to be less intelligent and more aggressive if they eat it all the time.

We live in the middle of the woods where deer run rampant. My five dogs seem to catch, kill, play with, and eat a deer a week. It's impossible to stop them.

My local vet told me that raw meat is better than cooked meat, but that might explain why my dog is aggressive.

its not their fault, they just were born without the correct enzymes for digesting chocolate, so its gods fault.

My dogs do the Cacao Challenge for breakfast each morning and they're doing just fine!
