So tired of these America bashing posts. We are one of the most tolerant countries around the world. Just because the tax code doesn't recognize gay marriage, does that really make us that bad? Seriously? Some countries kill you for being gay.

Just because things are worse elsewhere doesn't mean you have to tolerate intolerance in your own home. My siblings can get married and enjoy rights I can't, just because of the gender of my partner. I am unequal in my own country where I am expected to pay the same taxes you refer to. Ask my partner if it's a big deal. Ask my parents. Just because the system works in your favor does not mean it's working.
