Why reading is important

Reading seems to be a characteristic that's passed down to one person each generation. My great great aunt reads a lot, then my grandmother reads, then it's my dad and then it's me.

I disagree, everyone in my family hates reading, just like their parents and siblings before them. I was the first person in 3 generations to get a library card. If I didn't look just like my grandpa in his youth, I would be pressed to think I was adopted.

Well I meant specifically with my family. I guess I didn't make that very clear.
