Because the words RIGHT now don't mean that. And if every time someone uses a word incorrectly we just change it to what they actually mean, words wouldn't have much meaning.

Exactly, if we keep using the word "gay" to mean "rubbish" then eventually they will change the meaning to "rubbish", just like when they changed the meaning from happy to homosexual. There is always another side to the story. If enough people want the word gay to be perjorative then it will be. Just something you have to get over I'm afraid.
