If you really followed Carlin thru his work, you cannot possibly believe that he'd be advocating the narrative todays alt-right is spreading, and he'd totally kick most peoples asses who refer to him in general and this quote in particular, trying to defend chauvinist hate speech against criticism. What he fought against was not the attempt to counter discrimination but to silence people you don't agree with. As soon as you start criticizing alt-righters for WHAT they say, not for the act of saying it, they pretend someone wants to silence them which is a total abuse and misrepresentation of what he meant. He wanted open minds and open words on BOTH sides of an argument. The alt-right point at the special snowflakes but mean anyone who criticizes them.
