How does one fight discrimination? 64 comments

As you're even capsing the word majority, you'll surely have some figures to back that up. No? You haven't? So you just took this shit out of where exactly? So tell me, how are "they" taking away your right to free speech, how are they silencing you? How do they ban your views? What grim consequences are you facing for being such a warrior against censorship? And most important? Why the fuck is the net so rim-full of the likes of you yapping about their rights being taken away, excercising just that right? So a handful of geeks call you names at tumblr? That's not exactly ending up in a PC gulag.

I think there's way, way more alt-righters than there are feminazis and other SJW combined, definitely a lot more than 200. For each open alt-righter, theres a lot of cowards and assholes who just come out anonymously in the net, cause they hate getting called bigots, alt-righters and assholes. And I am totally convinced that the damage the alt-righters do to society are a lot worse than any political correctness ever could. And please please please... try to mind your words. Who the fuck is ever !!censored!! for saying s/he doesn't believe in gay marriage? What is "censorship" in your opinion? Each and every alt-righter can say whatever the fuck s/he pleases and the fucking worst thing that can happen is somebody expressing discontent. BoofuckingHoo. What about this guy who built his entire political career on being politically incorrect 24/7? Didn't some ... confused country elect him as fucking president?

"Have you never read his books or listened to his speeches?" - well of course not, apparently. Most people who "love the guy" and think he was "so awesome" only know this quote and a few similar. His famous "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" are shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker and tits. Isn't that cute, from todays perspective? I'm pretty, pretty sure he wouldn't have defended white idiots saying "if blacks can call each other Nigger, then why can't I, that's racist!" or bullshit like that. He would have fought for their right to say it, but he would have trashed them to rubble for actually saying it. And guess who would've called him a SJW trying to kill free speech for that... kind of ironic, innit?

This quote is from 2004, coming from a man in his 60s who had been fighting against what he called political correctness since the late 1970s. And a LOT has happened in the public discourse since 2004. If you really followed Carlin thru his work, you cannot possibly believe that he'd be advocating the narrative todays alt-right is spreading, and he'd totally kick most peoples asses who refer to him in general and this quote in particular, trying to defend chauvinist hate speech against criticism. What he fought against was not the attempt to counter discrimination but to silence people you don't agree with. As soon as you start criticizing alt-righters for WHAT they say, not for the act of saying it, they pretend someone wants to silence them which is a total abuse and misrepresentation of what he meant. He wanted open minds and open words on BOTH sides of an argument. The alt-right point at the special snowflakes but mean anyone who criticizes them.

Homosexuality had been considered a mental illness by WHO until 1992. And same as back then, the categorization as Gender dysphoria being a pathological state is highly controversial. Federal european laws and many european countries do not consider this as mental illness. Also, gender reassignment would be the cure for many cases of so-called Gender dysphoria, so one might argue if it's not a somatic illness. For a transgender person the main problem is not being the wrong person but having the wrong body. This is getting a psychological problem mainly because of the dickishness of the world around them. Like some idiots calling them mentally ill, or who believe "a lot of them" are shoplifters.

Yea, right, I forgot how important logic is when it comes to psychology, emotions and that kind a shit.
.
You're just drawing the line somewhere you'd like to see it drawn. But keep telling yourself it's logical.

So what chemical imbalance or inconsistency is causing your attitude of totally lacking tolerance, empathy and fantasy?
.
So being homosexual is also a mental illness? Cause it definitely falls within your definition. Furthermore, it has been argued that very religious people might just have an overactive part in their brain, causing a certain chemical imbalance or inconsistency which may lead them to believe in the presence of higher beings or other fictitious things. Are these people suffering from a mental illness?
.
You _really_ like to select and reject people, don't you?

"They want to have their own special pronouns, their own bathrooms, and their own accommodations. " - who wants that? "They" (whoever that would be) want something outside He and She, which we as a society could just try and come up with, if we generally had respect. And the only "accommodation" in question would be public bathrooms, which by the way has been brought up by straight people who want to ban other people from public bathrooms for not being 100% according to a heterosexual norm. So it's actually a certain group of straights who cry like babies for their "safe rooms" here. So, you see any more dangers of a "major restructuring of social structure" you are afraid of?

This has got nothing to do with my personal opinion. An algorithm with the purpose of showing you what you prefer to see will by definition constrict your perception. Which is exactly the opposite of what a news source should do.

The facebook algorithm will decide which BBC news articles you get to see, based on FB policies and the choices you and your peer group have made on facebook. It's not a proper news platform.

I have asked that myself a lot, and my idea is that followers of a monotheistic religion feel somehow more "civilized" than followers of polytheism, who feel (Hindus i.e.) and felt more civilized than followers of "natural religions" who don't have any gods and only believe in the spirit of nature as a whole consisting of sprites, fairytales and demons. The more some people built up estate and assets, the more they needed a complex religion to justify inequality and a strict hierarchic system to make sure that thos who gad more could also keep it. The more gods, the more negotiation, the more demand to share the wealth. When there is one god, it makes more sense to people that there's only one leader. So strong leaders would favor monotheism and would try to make any belief system with more than one god look inferior.

pretty much ^^ - It's just the "moderate conservatives with some liberal views" are not exactly represented by the GOP. Trump had a much larger majority in the candidacy race than in the actual votes. So I guess _at least_ an equal number of MCWSLV voted HRC as teaparty/alt-right/extreme right wingers voted DJT, people who didn't vote the last decades at all. And these suckers throw a hysteric tantrum any time anybody says "feminism", "racism is not completely gone", "words have power, so kinda mind them" and they escape to their safe places where like-minded agree with and support them. These people do not represent the entire republicans. But the litmus test called Trump clearly showed they're at least a huge chunk of the GOP.

You're wrong though, its only the over 50s and the very, very daft young folks who think Facebook is a news source.

Ok, so we're from "haven't been published" to "could have missed it". Next thing you should be working on is to accept your bias. You won't find what you're not looking for. Did you do the pic search I recommended? No, you didn't. And further to your media and news competence: it goes to show by listing Fuckbook, Yahoo and Google as news resources.
