I didnt work at a CVS but i worked a similar store in my town and we usually only put those on high theft SKU's (SKU is specific to one type of item where as a UPC would be a group of items ex. A bottle vs. a green bottle)

I also work retail at a gas station (a little different from your situation) and our ebt does NOT cover hot food, and we have a fairly regular customer base to the point I can tell you when someone is going to come in and what they're going to get, and I still have to remind the same people that ebt doesn't work on hot food. The consumer only hears what they want to hear I swear

Note to any person who does this: obesity is not a disability, I work retail and nothing pisses me off more than seeing some lazy piece of shit take a motor chair and then seeing an old person who can barely walk into the store by themselves have to walk the entire store and shop, if you can walk your ass from the car to our doors you don't need it, sorry for the rant
