"All the better to eat you with, my dear.”
I huffed and I puffed,
And the house blew apart,
I’m leaving for now,
But you’re all in my heart.

Oh my GOD, DOG. I thought we were PALS but now I want to SLAP you. DELIVER obvious memes like this and you’ll be REVILED. I love it when you POST but this needs to STOP. DAMMIT I’M MAD! And to think you were this close to being a FunSubstance STAR. RATS! (Jokes aside, I’m with you, mate. Evian is totally overpriced!)

The ‘fact’ in the meme is a merely a statement made in link (1) below from a blog on Psychology Today that has no footnotes or references to other sources to support it. Link (2) below from the American Psychology Association is ‘likely’ the source for the statement.

@guest Can you please site your source that pedophiles are twice as likely to be homosexual than heterosexual? The following paper from the University of California Davis Department of Psychology has 20+ sources that suggest otherwise: (http://psychology.ucdavis.edu/rainbow/html/facts_molestation.html)
TL;DR - In one review of the scientific literature, noted authority Dr. A. Nicholas Groth wrote: Are homosexual adults in general sexually attracted to children and are preadolescent children at greater risk of molestation from homosexual adults than from heterosexual adults? There is no reason to believe so. The research to date all points to there being no significant relationship between a homosexual lifestyle and child molestation. There appears to be practically no reportage of sexual molestation of girls by lesbian adults, and the adult male who sexually molests young boys is not likely to be homosexual (Groth & Gary, 1982, p. 147).

Dads, tell your daughters they are ‘pretty’. Then introduce them to a life of crime at an early age. Because women get shorter jail sentences than men and good looking convicts get less prison time than unattractive ones. Moral of the story? Marry a supermodel then send your offspring on a murder spree against your worst enemies. They’ll be out of jail and home before your Christmas dinner has a chance to cool.

@under_fire But most of your comments are humorous one-liners or thoughtful twists on the meme. I see no previous indicators of you calling out other people in your account, except for this post about @mistake... Hmmm...

I would think PETA should have a bigger issue with adolescent animals living in a sewer who are being trained to attack other severely mutated animals with weapons designed to kill. I mean, they were less concerned about Michael Vick than they are about these pizza toppings.

I really hope they can do something to rehabilitate the monkey. That poor dog, though. He went from a quietly terrified ‘pleas help me, hooman’ look on the left to a quietly resigned ‘do I still look okay’ look on the right. But he still looks to his owner in spite of it all. Dogs. Gotta love ‘em.

But who invites guests over who they don’t like? If someone invites you into their home just to serve you hot dog water ice cubes, I’d be less concerned about murdering them and more concerned that they’re planning on murdering you.

Settling for Yale 8 comments

@honeybumblebee I see your point but I’d like to respectfully disagree with you on the parts about ‘entitled’ and her ‘working hard like everyone else’. Legacy admits - children whose parents went to Ivy League schools - are substantially more likely to get into their parents’ alma mater over ‘regular’ applicants. Harvard is getting sued over this right now. The fact that she didn’t get into MIT and Stanford but got into Yale makes me think maybe she didn’t (have to) work as hard as other students who busted their butts to get into Yale but didn’t. So, I do think she is privileged but, if anything, ignorant of her privilege and ungrateful about the fact that she got into a school that some people would figuratively kill to get into. Had she not used the word ‘settling’, I might feel differently. And no, I didn’t go to Yale. But when I see comments like hers when so many people are struggling so hard just to go to - and pay for - college, it makes me a little angry.

Hmm. I don’t know, actually. We were just going through her list of possible names but she and her husband made the final decisions. But if they decide to have another and it’s a girl, you never know.

@aviva Hirsute would be a better word than hairy, ha ha. Mischievous in terms of testing limits, pushing boundaries, asking for foregiveness not permission, being adventurous. I liked Aviva (palindrome, had ‘viva’ in it) but as I said my good girlfriend had a boy so her girls names went out the window. And life goes on.

@guest_ You’re a far braver man than I am. There’s no way I’d touch a meme about micropenis with a 10-foot pole. It’s one of those ‘the only way this conversation can go for a man is nuclear’ type of posts. Wouldn’t have thought to use lesbianism - or drawing - as an analogue. Well played, mi amigo.

@aviva It translates to ‘Big Bad Wolf’. I picked it because I’m tall and hairy, mischievous, and would be categorized as a ‘wolf.’ I speak decent enough Spanish and spend a part of the year in Colombia, so it was a reference to the place that I would call a second home of sorts. Plus, I really like wolves and felt the kids stories beg the question ‘is he really bad or just following his instincts?’ So the name resonated with me and here we are.

I’ve never heard the word ‘wetly’ used in a sentence before but this instance has now made the concept *exceedingly* crystal clear in my mind.
