Let’s look deeper. Gotham is a “city.” Not a state or a county. The primary source of tax revenue for cities comes from things like property tax, business tax, permit and use fees. To raise those into billions or millions would make it so no one else could afford them- and you can’t set taxes by business or by person. If Wayne paid it in income tax it would go to the Federal or state government and be distributed by their budget plan. Gotham is a hole. Underfunded and largely forgotten. With all its crime etc it isn’t often if at all the military or national guard step in even. It’s full of slums and decaying buildings and constructions. A city in decline and forgotten. It doesn’t seem to get a lot of federal or state funds.

*disclaimer- there are MANY versions of Gotham across and even within film and print and other medium. Characters have different backstories or personalities- sometimes are heroes or villains etc. and there isn’t a single continuity. So what I say applies to the general CONCEPT of Gotham and Gotham in general as it’s averagely portrayed. Not this version or that one.

But yeah. The analogy- not even being difficult or anything. I have almost no idea what you’re trying to say there. I think I know what you might be tryin to say- but I wouldn’t want to assume especially because I can see at least 3 ways that could be interpreted.

That said- if your House is so dirty that people living in it protest and make films and have rallies and need organizations about it- and the whole rest of the world is more or less aware of your domestic unrest- it probably isn’t clean. The parts YOU live in perhaps. Or perhaps it is clean enough for you- but you aren’t the only one in the house no?

Ummmm..... I feel like if you’re going to use analogy you might want to perhaps both be more precise in intent- and more realistic to the analogous matter- the point of analogy is it is relatable. I don’t know how many people’s grandfathers died cleaning their house in a literal sense. Metaphor may not be as clear to your point here as direct language.

Reporter: “General, many people have said your countries Independence Day is actually the celebration of the genocides in your country. What do you say?”
General: “Whoa. Those are steep accusations. Firstly it is important that we specify WHICH Independence Day we are talking about.”
Reporter: “umm... the one in your country. The one we were just talking about. With the genocides...?”
General: “Hold on now. Many countries have genocides, and there are Independence days around the world. You’re going to have to be more specific. Also- look out the window. I see a butterfly!”

Clean up. Get my dogs trained and or acclimated as needed by determining the cause of their destructive behavior (which is most likely my own fault as it is usually separation anxiety, lack of stimulation, or inconsistent discipline and structure.) Or reevaluate my life and face the possibility that while I may love dogs- my life or my personality may not be well suited for caring for dogs if I cannot supply the environment and attention they need to be happy and well adjusted. That’s me of course personally.

You are correct! I did not mention solar wind. Comprehensive isn’t comprehensive when you miss out. But that’s why I estimated 4 at the high end. A light launch vehicle (it doesn’t need to re enter and dude is dead long before the corona unless we build a theoretical and nonexistent monstrosity), so it isn’t specified he has to reach the sun alive- but we can infer he at least needs to be in relatively complete shape. So light launch vehicle, sling shot, corrective thrust here and there- 4 million kg of thrust total is back of the envelope. But.... you’re right that still might not cut the mustard. It all depends on specifics as coronal discharge and other factors can increase or decrease the intensity of solar wind encountered.

Thank you too vulture. I hope there’s some help in their. We’ve all been there one time or another, and (lol) had someone else tell us that. I know it doesn’t seem helpful much when you’re in that spot. There is a light at the end of the tunnel (another thing people always tell us when we are in that position lol.) You can do it. Double down on you. It’s a bet you can’t lose.

We spend a lot of time worrying about what other people do, that other people make the choices we are comfortable with them making. That they conform to our idea of how things should be. That’s silly. It gets pretty gross though when we start obsessing over what sexuality a child may have, what organs are in their pants, etc. If we let people figure out who they want to be, that is who they will tend to become. I don’t see how so many people can get upset over “forcing” anything but What they consider normative in gender identity in a child on principle- but not be upset on the same principal when parents “force” kids into what they consider normative. If it isn’t the principal it is the politics that drive you.

Well said. At 3 years old most “gender” issues and traits are going to be social. “Timmy likes dolls” “Jannie likes trucks” “Joey wants to wear dresses” “Jill likes short hair and won’t wear a dress or pink...” And would the advice there be to parents- don’t let your children choose the things they like- but force them to conform to what YOU or your peers consider acceptable gender roles for them? “Boys don’t dress like that sweetie...” “boys don’t wear makeup...” “wouldn’t you rather have this pretty dolly?” “Why don’t you have tea with the other girls and stop playing in the mud with the boys?” That is imprinting upon a child your ideals of gender isn’t it? You can’t change the imprint you make upon a young child and their development. They may someday change their mind but you can’t erase the effects that had on them or the long term effects we never truly shake of these formative experiences.

Good luck bethorien. Many alive saw segregation in their lifetimes but you’ll find plenty who will tell you about how racism was an overblown thing that is all but effectively gone- a relic of the past. Trying to convince people slavery was bad and not a big party full of happy slaves and benevolent masters is hard enough. Getting people to feel shame at overtly shameful behavior in light of revisionist history is hard enough, bringing any hint of harsh reality to a feel good holiday overwash seems a reach. People prefer the happy story, the fragility of self identity and ego at having been wrong makes it easier for some adults to believe in the tooth fairy than to admit one got over on them.

But- rough numbers, with some assumptions such as: the child must actually reach the sun relatively completely, intact, and living at least until out of orbit; and that NO magic or crazy solution to apply thrust beyond what is presently available is an option, AND that we aren’t concerned with MINIMUM force or maximum speed- 1 55lb child, a launch vehicle to keep them in tact and alive for at least most of their journey, earth sea level optimal launch site and weather, to the sun... rough round numbers- 3-4 million kilograms of thrust should get the job done.

If you don’t use the suns gravity to pull the mass in to the sun, the TOTAL force goes down, as does if you don’t sling shot earth’s orbit on the way to the sun. However- to keep the same speed you’ll need far more fuel and propulsion- so the supplied force has to go up.

But to calculate the theoretical force needed to achieve the goal here is simple. If you want to use the MINIMUM force necessary that becomes more complex- and the answer changes based on wether you are asking for force as a measure of what you must apply or force as a measure of total forces needed to be applied.

If “force required” is asking how much force is NEEDED to get from point A to point B as an absolute- you have to supply the specifics. For instance, the “force required” to open a stuck door doesn’t change, but the force YOU require can change if you use a lever or other tool. If you ask for total force required to open the door and reach the other side that depends. It will take more total force in the equation to open the door in leather gear than naked, in steel toe boots than shower flip flops. If you want to do it faster that’s more force, how wide you want to door opened etc etc.

Once we break orbit it just becomes a question of “when” we want him to reach the sun and if he has to be alive when he does. The TOTAL force required “door to door” goes down greatly if we go to minimum corrective thrust and drift once we clear orbit, then reduce as gravity allows, and let the suns gravity take care of the last part of the trip. If “force required” refers to how much force we must apply- we don’t count gravity or other “free” force like acceleration from a sling shot maneuver- we are referring to thrust we must supply.

To break orbit the kid would need to accelerate at 11 kilometers per second. That’s about 27983.4 kgf kgf thrust you’d have to apply to a 55lb kid. However- unless you could apply this thrust externally (which presently for all intents you could not-) the weight of the thrusters, fuel, and support structures would need to be applied to the mass we want to break orbit- increasing the force required. Now- if we do this- we will not likely “fling him into the sun” as the force applied directly to him would kill him most likely, and the heat would leave nothing or almost nothing of him. We need to add a launch vehicle, support systems, and likely computer controls unless the kid is spec’s out to fly a space craft and willing to fly themselves into the sun.

The fact Africans sold Africans into slavery is also meaningless. China Censors political speech harshly. Blizzard doesn’t censor as bad as China. So why is everyone mad at Blizzard? China censors Chinese people all the time no? You can’t control if Jim’s house is messy- you can control if YOUR House is in order. What, you going to bring over a hot date and say: “the crack house across town is WAAAY worse. Jim’s house is messy too...” Nope. That’s your mess. You the previous owner left the toilet plugged guess what? You gotta clean it or live with shit in your house. That’s life. You can pressure Jim to clean his house but you better have your house clean first- otherwise how the fuq are you gonna ask him?

Yes. Slavery STILL goes in around the world in 2019. There is no reason to compare it to other slavery though? It’s not going to change the life of a Romanian Sex slave or likely thrill them to find out that they are part of a long tradition of slaves and in the same boat as the Irish or the Hebrews once were. Whenever someone tries to compare Slavery in America to the “worse” slavery somewhere else stop listening. Stop. If every white person except for 10 were sold to Africa as slaves that would have shit to do with what Americans did to African slaves.

We can’t tell you what a “man” is or a “woman” but lord help you if you hint there may be another gender- and despite there being at least 5 medical categories of sex in humans for at least 100 years- most people still only recognize 2 sexes. So it would just be too darn much work for most folks to differentiate between radicals and variations of spectrum or doctrine or methodology etc. in feminists and vegans. It’s “too hard” to have any sort of useful classification system so we go to the ‘ol simple fall back that throws a wide range of perhaps vaguely similar in some way humans into a sparse handful of broad categories so that one is the same as another. Imprecise and ineffective- but at least it doesn’t require thinking- and using the brain is our sworn enemy.

We don’t like dealing with labels. It’s still hard enough for people to distinguish between a vegetarian and a vegan let alone a Pescatarian etc. Accepting “homosexual” as an option was a big push let alone getting people to differentiate it from being a child molester- but bi sexuality is still a myth to some people, good luck if you’re demi, pan, or any other type of sexual people don’t want to remember or know about. If you’re left just too far but don’t believe in communism convince people you aren’t a communist or socialist. I’ll wait.

1. Did some people “cyber bully” probably. Did all? No.
2. I keep forgetting corporations are people. Now you can bully an organizational entity? I feel so horrible for all those Chipotle Jokes I made. “Chipotle” the legal construct with no body that exists only on paper must have felt so sad. I wonder how many corporations have committed suicide from cyber bullying? We are all monsters.
3. Yes. Corporations employ people. People worked hard to make this movie. If you were sending the CGI artist DM’s or calling those people out and harassing them sure. That’s clear bullying as opposed to constructive criticism or humor. But... really? “Bullying on paper non human entities created for and entirely existing to make profit” is now something we want to shame- but it’s ok to call out “snow flakes” and “trump supporters” or whoever else? Please get out more. Maybe make friends with some humans and not just corporations?

But the truth is- one can be alone and not be lonely, or with someone and more lonely than ever. We are all lonely sometimes of course. But if you can’t be happy with you- neither likely can someone else. Gotta love yourself first, and part of loving yourself is seeing to your needs, and finding a partner who can care for those. Otherwise you just have a body pillow with feelings, and that’s not good for either person long term.
