Defacing a painting as a political message? Extreme- but easily understood by most. Angry+want attention= a destructive act against an object that lots of people regularly pay attention to. At the end of the day to most people, the majority of whom aren’t generally huge art buffs or holding the preservation of cultural art history as a major pillar of their values and concerns… the act may be viewed negatively, but it generally ranks slightly above grafiti and far below blowing up a building or crashing a train or even disrupting commerce.

Tom cruise was relentlessly mocked and even today the joke or references come up- he jumped on a couch in joy speaking on his love and engagement. Now, if a man broke composure and let out a small hint of giddiness people might see it as childishly endearing or a sight he is convincingly happy, but if you jump on the couch you get largely seen as nuts. If you are angry and you say “f&ck” in a setting that usually isn’t done, people can often feel and believe your outrage. If you go on a tirade or start foaming at the mouth in rage you’ll be seen likely as crazy.

The thing is- if you light yourself on fire, most people are likely to think you are crazy. Arguably, if you would intentionally light yourself on fire, there are good odds you probably would be medically classified as having some sort of mental issue or crisis.
A common problem people have when they feel strongly about something is that they fail to control their emotions. Often times, showing a certain amount of emotion can help convince people or move them. If your voice breaks slightly or lowers; if someone like a composed official let’s slip a harsh word- it can resonate with people that they are angry or serious or sad etc.

1. I pay your salary!
2. Sorry, I promise I won’t check my texts again.
3. I feel I should inform you I am filming this.
4. You look really familiar, have we met before?
5. This has never happened before. I swear.
6. I didn’t know I was going that fast, I was just trying to keep pace.
7. Why don’t you just take the money and we forget this happened?
8. I wasn’t expecting you to just come from behind like that out of nowhere.
9. You’re obviously a veteran, and I have things to do, so can we just get this over with quick please?
10. You might as well call for backup now because one of you isn’t going to be able to handle me alone.

If those sides suddenly make peace or one side is routed, you have a potential problem as you have a lot of angry fighters and weapons of war with no wars to fight. When people have armies and lots of weapons and problems- they tend to make wars. People that hate you or can gain from your loss may make war on you. Perpetual regional conflict helps to keep various groups occupied and helps tie up weapons that are floating around.

It is in a way a type of strong arm diplomacy. On the other hand sometimes your side doesn’t come out on top, and occasionally things change in ways that weren’t predicted. Peace can be exactly what some don’t want. Say that two sides, small nations or factions of a civil war are in conflict. If that fighting is far away from you, if the weapons being used are not feasible for globe spanning war but suitable to local conflict- you probably aren’t too worried about your dog in the fight biting you. Not only are you out of reach, but they have another dog trying to kill them. Their attention is on their war. Even if they hate your guts- they can’t fight you, the one feeding them, and the guys trying to kill them at the same time.

Using Iran as an example of this principle- when we wanted to be friendly the US supplied fighters and other equipment. As long as Iran and the USA stayed friends Iran would have support and america would have money. This relationship compels friendship or civility if not unbalanced. Ideally for the supplier it is unbalanced and the recieving party is basically on a leash. Iran and the USA didn’t stay friendly as Iran didn’t want to play ball the American way. So they were cut off and in the modern day their air force and other military supplies suffered because without American supply lines it was difficult to maintain the American equipment they built those services around.

It’s true. But… it’s also economics. Government A funds a “terrorist group” or “resistance group” or “political group” “dissident group” “faction” or government because it serves government A. Government B does the same. Sometimes if A and B have opposite interests or are just hostile or adversarial they fund opposing sides intentionally.
Sometimes your side becomes a new power base in that region and your involvement can give you influence, friendly relations, information, leverage, and you must consider this- troops trained on your weapons systems and tactics, if or when they become a regular military and government they often will want to keep using your equipment and tactics. It’s what they know and they’ve built a fighting force around. That not only secures long term arms deals but also builds reliance on friendly relations for support and and upgrades.

The meme is funny and shows this woman’s ridiculousness already but beyond that…
Duh. That is literally what law enforcement is supposed to do Abby. It is supposed to go after any of us who break the law Abby. It isn’t supposed to matter if you are a president or a pauper, the judicial system is supposed to explore allegations of wrong doing and then prosecute them, and law enforcement is part of that system- gathering evidence and arresting those a court determines there is credible evidence they may have broken the law.
What do you think the FBI is for Abby? Ever heard of Watergate Abby? Who is a president accountable to Abby? Who holds them accountable, can you answer that Abby?

So I mean… a lot of these “waifu”probably wouldn’t be great in real life because regardless of whatever character flaws they may be given or arguments over wether IRL they would still be able to throw a bus when they are angry etc… many anime characters would likely get boring really quick in real life unless maybe you share their generally limited, specific, and obsessive interests.

In simple terms, we often either don’t know the character very well at more than a shallow level or the character is left somewhat intentionally blank so that fans can project onto them. How do you think the average anime woman would react to a lot of your favorite memes? Cruelty, racism, vulgarity etc? Does her characterization strike you as vulgar? Picture an episode of the show and then picture Roy showing her some darn meme or some of the quasi or outright racism and bigotry that so many laugh at online. Does she strike you as the sort that would be into that? She is overall generically sweet and “girly” in her characterization which is played against the contrast in violence and strength of a master assassin.

So in general I’m going to say that many “waifu” probably are not really great candidates in real life. Many would probably accidentally or might intentionally kill or cripple you. Is YF from spyXfamily a bad “waifu”? I can’t really say the case made in the meme is conclusive.
One thing I can say in general and perhaps about her- most people wouldn’t likely enjoy having her as a partner. Women in anime are often one dimensional. Characters in general regardless of gender- they are often simple. They have a few very strong likes and a few very strong dislikes. They have an archetype and some quirks. But characters often serve a purpose and in anime like SXF they tend to do what the plot requires so long as they generally follow a broad nature.

That said being wanted is meh. There can be some stress and extra considerations but it isn’t like being wanted, even for murder or political crimes, will ruin all chances you have at living your life or force you into hiding. We know where many mob bosses and drug kingpins and such live. We know where accused terrorists and human rights violators live. Many spies and former spies have been outed and we know where they live. Defectors who have given secrets to enemy states and then fled- we know where many live. Many live very public lives. If they aren’t in that country and the country they are in doesn’t want to give them up, there isn’t really an easy and civil path to going and getting them. It isn’t exactly legal or diplomatically wise to send your police to another country to impose your laws on their citizens, and success can be elusive since you are generally from their vantage- kidnapping their citizens or vassals.

The world has many countries. Not all of them are very neighborly with each other. Politics and law are complicated. The executives of the worlds largest consumer diamond company were wanted in the USA for decades. They would be arrested if they stepped foot on US soil but their products still sold and the money they made in the US still went into their pockets and they were still free and living it up overseas. Lots of Americans are wanted in various other countries. That means you need to think a little before you go on vacation. You probably don’t want to try to visit a resort on the countr(y/ies) you are wanted in, you may need to avoid countries they have certain arrangements or relationships with, and you may have places that you’d probably be fine to go but they could decide to turn you in and there is a gamble there.

Taking it into the real world- assassin is a rare job in the real world. It is seldom even a job and is usually more of a task- it is less that a single person is an assassin and more that there are people who we sometimes used as assassins but that isn’t their main job. They said, yes. Someone who works for a government or NGO and part of that work involves murder- they are probably wanted or sought after in criminal proceedings. They would likely pose a liability as regardless of legal action there may be people who would want them dead- perhaps even their own handlers. That said- the wanted thing is meh. Lots of people are wanted for serious crimes that go beyond a mech warrant for some tickets or child support or whatever.

So of course part is a question of creative license. If this person were real would they have such outrageous abilities or behaviors or would they be a little more realistic?

Anime are cartoons and not always super realistic. Often characters can have super human strength and regularly jump on another character with the force of a freight train and it is played for laughs. Obviously in real life if a normal human was in that situation they’d likely die. The old joke about of when Superman and Louis lane have sex he has to be careful not to kill her- though there is truth there. Someone with those sorts of powers could easily accidentally kill you. Often times their partners are superhuman too. If not literally super powered they have some sort of martial arts or tactical abilities that allow them to avoid or endure etc. their partners violence. A super soy Can maybe dodge or catch a throwing knife from their spouse when they come home late but an ordinary person would likely be stabbed by that same knife.

Some people say it is never ok to hit. Period. In an ultimate sense of “enlightened society” that’s likely true. In a more practical sense we do use violence. The fundamental order of our society hinges on the idea that if you break the rules and nothing else works we will forcibly arrest and detail you and ultimately even kill you if things are severe enough. I don’t want to go through the complex nuances and all the qualifiers between play fighting and wrestling and various forms of mutually reciprocal sexual aggression and such. Partners should never find themselves using actual violence against each other. I’m not going to go into what actual violence means. Use common sense or realize that what you consider acceptable is subjective and circumstantial. Her violent tendencies are likely something she would need to work on expressing differently.

I’m just saying that I reject the premise that her drinking would make her a bad partner. I will say that drinking heavily can be a response to trauma and unresolved issues and in those cases it is usually healthiest to work through the underlying issues- but end of day, we are all “dysfunctional” and have issues and unhealthy coping and such. It’s more about if two people are compatible in their dysfunction. As for her being violent- that’s another powder keg. Domestic violence and abuse are serious issues and I am reluctant to say anything that could be construed as supporting those things, but I will also say it isn’t like I’ve never met any woman who didn’t like to get a little violent or wouldn’t throw hands.

a good time. I’ve also known people who when they drink they are mean, abusive, unpleasant to be around, embarrassing or wild and dangerous etc. The girl I mentioned at first- I actually liked her better when she was a little drunk. She was fun and funny and warm. Myself, I rarely drink, it can be years between drinks and then only when socially obligated if that. I have nothing against it and usually have fun but I also have other things to do and prefer to be present. I also am usually traditionally on a work out and nutrition plan and outside of being in competitive shape I COULD fit alcohol in but I’d rather save that space for a soda or juice or maybe a little pastry or some fatty meat etc. So I’m not saying this because I’m some lush or from my personal opinions on alcoholic drinks- which if the world went to prohibition tomorrow I’d largely not effected and have no personal stake in the specific matter.
In reality though, most developed nations are life as cheap. Lots of people die every day. The world just went through a pandemic that took more than half a billion lives in a short span. We couldn’t get people to wear masks, stay at home, vaccinate, or even believe it was real or a threat. Death is politicized.
