"Lithobates catesbeianus" - just as proud as any American. Though their native range is the eastern part of the United States and Canada, they've been introduced to other parts of the world including South America and China. They are often viewed as an invasive species outside their home range. Their name comes from their call, which kind of sounds like a bull groaning or moaning. Despite being North America's biggest frog and notably aggressive when defending their territory, their are a prey item for many animals, including humans. Also, most unfortunately, these are the frogs most commonly dissected in science classes. (These frogs are also a goldmine for 'Murican jokes, but I won't make any today. I hope you guys appreciate my restraint)

For quite a bit, it was believed that when rabbits fought, it was two males. Turns out, it's usually a female fending off a horny male.

Wait, what was that about slavery?...

It's no surprise that people like to take shots at the US. And to be fair, it not... completely unwarranted. There are many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many things wrong with it.
*
But for today let's put that aside and focus on celebrating the American identity. Despite the stereotype for selfishness, the USA is the world's largest provider of foreign aid. Despite people thinking they're stupid, they've been at the forefront of technological advancement for decades. And yes, Hollywood is a cesspit but American cinema is still arguably the most influential in the world. And then there's the whole thing about being the world's only remaining superpower and having the biggest army.

Even after 80 years, the Germans can't help but mess with the French. (I'm kidding, of course. It's a super adorable gif, and the cat's expressions are pretty funny)
