It's the thought that counts. The frog could have just made a card, too.

Welcome back, @alekazam. I hope you're doing okay. Saying that you've had it rough this year would be a huge understatement. But I believe you'll be able to recover from your experience and keep moving forward. At the very least, I'm sure you've given people some perspective on their own lives.

This will always be my fave Sonic game. Why? Three words: Super Chaos Emeralds. It's the only game to feature them and Hyper Sonic, and playing as him is well worth the strife of collecting the elusive gems.
Funny thing, I didn't have a PC until I was 13 (I'm poor, okay?) so I used to play the Sonic 3 demo in computer halls (like internet cafés without the internet). I played it so much that I had Angel Island practically memorized.
Years later, I got the full game (imagine how excited I was to find out the first level wasn't the entire game) and played over and over, especially after getting Hyper Sonic.
I still remember how fun it was to tear through enemies and rescue those cute fluffies. I remember the great soundtrack (which I still listen to from time to time) and of course the last battle with Robotnik in the Death Egg and the Doomsday Zone.
Sonic Mania did a fantastic job capturing the OG Sonic feel, but to me this game is still the best.

So this is a reference to @cakelover's Wolverine cosplay. And just like the aforementioned X-man, these mons have retractable metal claws. (As a bonus, they're also Galarian. And the Galar region is based on the UK)

Family. Honor. Tradition. And Donuts. Only a true luchador can master all four elements, and bring Lucha Libre to the world.
I'm not entirely convinced that this show was an accurate representation of the sport of lucha. Still, it was fun and colorful, with its anime-esque transformation lucha moves.
As you might expect, it had a Day of the Dead episode. It featured a skeleton kid with fire in his eye sockets fighting against Ricochet (the main character). I also remember the Flea's description of this holiday as a day when the dead rise to "eat the toes and spleen of the living." (This was back when kid's show had an obsession with mentioning the spleen for some reason)

I just got lucky. There was an Alolan Marowak raid event yesterday, and they were all 3-star; so I was able to solo them.

I could trade you, if you like. But I don't know if that's possible.

I'd have paid to see that, though maybe they could play a fighting game instead of actually fighting.

What I find funny is that @cakelover cosplayed Wolverine (a Candanian). And @xvarnah sometimes uses Britishisms.

Yeah, I get that. Initially, I was gonna go with Jigglypuff. But I think the Fairy background looks better than the Normal one.

Nostalgiavember Day 1 - Animaniacs 5 comments

Helloooo, I'm the Nostalgia Frog, I remember it 'cause I have nothing better to do. So this year will probably be pretty memorable, even though I'm sure most people would rather forget it. But there are things we do want to remember. While nostalgia is pretty subjective (depending on age, something from 5 years ago could be nostalgic for someone) I'd like to take this month to revive some of the things that left a personal impact. As such, I won't be giving too much backstory on each entry, but instead I'll focus on my personal experiences with said entry and hope I don't sound too much like a rambling grandpa.

Animaniacs is getting a reboot on Hulu. The trailers do make me excited for it. I did grow up with the show, but I don't think I've seen every episode. The parts I remember most vividly are the songs (especially "Yakko's World") and the "Wakko's Wish" movie.

@xvarnah requested that I make an entry for @aviva at some point. While I don't know much about the latter I do know she likes to spread positivity, and so do these pink Pokébabies.

Also, just like year, no frogs this month. I know, many were lost during the great frog draught of 2019, but this year has toughened us and we shall pull through.

I will still continue the PoGo Project though. (And I may even find something else to post)

This entry is a little different since it's not based on a user. Nonetheless, I'll tag @captainjackharknes because jack-o'-latern. (And because he's very likely to make a joke account with this name)

Frogs in Fiction #35/Spooktober 2020 - Kek (Egyptian Mythology) 1 comments
happy_frog · 4 years ago
Another series resurrected? Top kek.
*
In ancient Egyptian cosmology, before time began there an endless sea of chaos. Eight deities (4 frogs gods and 4 snake goddesses) ruled the dark watery depths. These were called the Ogdoad. And among them was Kek (also called Kuk or Keku). Kek's name literally means 'darkness,' fitting considering his position as a god of darkness. Despite his association with the primordial abyss, Kek was also considered a dawn-bringer deity (darkest before the dawn and all that).
Despite the rather obscure nature of this deity, modern interest and interpretations have sprung up in recent years. Such as the alt-right's "Cult of Kek" (these guys just gotta ruin everything, don't they?).
This renewed interest may be in part due to homonymy between the god's name and the internet slang 'kek' (an equivalent of 'lol'). (Interestingly enough, 'kekeke' is also used as a stand-in for laughter in Korean-language chats. In Japanese, it evokes a sinister laugh)
