Don't ask me how I know, but they do tend to be better. More stalls, more facilities, and they're cleaner and smell nicer. Of course, that does depend on how each building administers their bathrooms. And naturally, just because that's the tendency, it doesn't always mean that the people who use them will also leave them as they found them.

That's true. Both bears and seals are in the same Order: "Carnivora". Beyond that however, their classification is a bit murky. But it is safe to say that seals are related to bears at least as closely as humans are to monkeys.

Because their brains needed a lot of oxygen... maybe?

But no. Apparently, it's because they couldn't bend their head upward. So when drinking from a pond, they had to submerge their entire snout to do so. If their nostrils were on their snout, it would have made them unable to breathe while drinking.

Yes, those examples are different species. Also, of course it's a matter of evolution. I wasn't denying that, I was just answering your question.
*
One interesting aspect of evolution is that it can be both divergent (your wolf example) and convergent (for example carcinisation, aka "evolve to crab").

Apparently not. Wolves are all subspecies of the species "Canis lupus". And all dogs are belong to the subspecies "Canis lupus familiaris".
