Not sure that's true for everyone. There's a British guy where I work, and he didn't seem too torn up about it.
Of course, he could just be an exception. And it's not like the Queen's passing wasn't a significant event.
But comparing a death from natural causes to a terrorist attack in which thousands died might be just a skosh much.

I can't even begin to fathom the amount of death, destruction, and misery caused by all of this.
*
To make matters worse, Moldova's government recently collapsed, and some speculate that this might make it potentially make it Putin's next target. The situations in Transnistria doesn't help.
It might be a good time for Romanians to put their money where their mouth is and help those they call their bretheren.
*
On the upside, it seems Putin is once again pressed for time, as March is an unfavorable time to launch offensives in Ukraine. And the Ukrainian military is planning their own offensive.
*
I know, many people have become numb to this at this point. But I don't think it's something that should be ignored.

A Washington always pays his debts. (Well, not really. Tax evasion was kinda a big factor in the American Revolution.)

A federal holiday in the US celebrated since 1879, honoring the people who have held the office of President of the United States (POTUS).
Initially, it was meant solely for George Washington, and later Lincoln, which is why it was celebrated on the former's birthday (February 22nd) and why it's also known as George Washington's Birthday in some states.
But it was moved to the third Monday in February in 1968 in order to give federal employees a three-day weekend. So, if you're one of those, enjoy.

I shouldn't be surprised that there are mice here as well. Of course, there are nowhere near as many as in London, or as there are rats in New York. Granted those cities are much bigger, but the fact remains.
