If the animal was very, very old (still alive from 9/11 so... old), going blind, deaf, losing sense of smell, arthritic... at a certain point there isnt much it a quality of life and the animal has earned an easy passage to the next life. I empathize with you and I get where you're coming from, but if the dog is in pain and cant really do anything a dog enjoys doing anymore there's a difference between keeping them around so you feel better versus them being around because their life is enjoyable.

I have not, sounds interesting but I am very much a black coffee drinker. Yeah Turkish coffee is very, very strong and textured. I like my coffee to have texture and kick.

I dont know if I would say they're losing their minds, I will say they're on higher alert. Im also not condoning what happened. I will also say Dallas command specifically has dropped the ball in several areas... making sure officers have access to mental health services, access to basic gear, etc. The city will spend millions on a 20 x 20 park on a bridge but cant afford many of their officers to have ballistic vests. There's a reason why there's a max exodus of police officers leaving Dallas, they can get better pay and better resources in almost any other city in the county, or head north to Collin County.

Waaaaay too many memes for that. It was funny at first, but 2000 memes later it's gotten old fast. Same as the Russia-gate stuff.

Correctly dealing with emotion and processing it so that a person can survive in a way other than what you do and what you believe is fine, and you vehemently disagreeing with it is fine. You saying its childish means that you have some growing up to do yourself. Your responses also strike me as someone who has had to deal with a lot in their past, someone who has dealt with trauma, possibly at a younger age, and you've taken a very hardened stance on how you think people should deal with it--and that's okay. You are correct that I brought up China, your argument seemed defensive on China's behalf. You are correct, bad is bad and that was also one of my points and why I was a little concerned as to why you were fighting so hard on the behalf of, you guessed it, China in this example.

Nope, I'm saying dont criticize one and defend the other. I'm also saying there's a point of overcritisizing everyone over every little thing, i.e., the balloon. I also stated that it's silly to die on this hill, to criticize someone over a balloon if that's how they heal and process, while bending over backwards to defend the culprits responsible for the overwhelming majority of the problems. The mentality of "well I cant do anything about those companies" represents the very childish mentality you claim to be combating. If you want to twist my premace to fit your argument, or should I say your perception, go for it.

The real reason countries like China dont want to switch to green energy is because the chinese government is a majority stake holder in all the coal/carbon repositories and refineries. If they go green, most high ranking communist party members lose out on massive, personal profit/wealth. The vast majority of the populace dont see jobs/money from these industries or losses there of.

You're talking to a guy who actively plants tree's in Israel, preaching to the choir. How you and I deal with loss might be very different than how someone else deals with it. My original premace stands and saying that it's tough for different industries to change doesnt negate the need for change, only that it still needs to happen. The defense that "it's difficult to change" eventually sounds more like an excuse considering the carbon footprint of those industries is ludicrously higher than the "balloon" in question. You have you're opinion and that's great, good on you for sticking to your guns.

What you consider overly emotional most would could consider emotionally healthy. Additionally, you're actually validating my point because regardless of how green or environmentally conscious anyone is or becomes it doesnt even move the needle due to not only a lack of transitioning to better, cleaner energy but the ramping up of less-green factory building by countries like China but the fact that releasing a balloon in the air is realistically impactful... because people will defend the real contributing factors to the death under the guise of industry and jobs--and I'm not entirely disagreeing with you on this point. However, criticizing someone for using a less-than eco friendly balloon to mourn a miscarriage as remotely impactful compared to coal factories in China, (22 new ones set to be built by EOY 2020) along with the chemical run off into the ocean from said plants is, at best, misinformed and at worst hypocritical.

You're damn right it's a piece of personal emotion, sometimes that's the entire point. I think it's a bit insane though that anyone is going to criticize a small act like this one when the overwhelming majority of the pollution and emissions in the world dont come from people doing things like this, but indeed from those coal factories or plants like it. No one said it was easy, but I refuse to be preached to when the vast majority of people could switch to carbon-zero lives over night and not have it make a dent in the actual problem. Also, side note, I dont know if you've actually seen the factories in question but they do NOT pay living fees. Also not sure you've been to China but it's pretty much smog everywhere you go so... yeah... balloon away I say, doesnt mean shit compared to whose really causing the damage.

Yeah, and I would be very surprised if she was in a stand your ground state... people dont harass you like that as often in a stand your ground state and if they do they can usually expect something a lot worse than a taser.

I get your point, but all due respect I'm going to let my friend get over her miscarriage with however many balloons she sees fit to use. Call me when China is done building coal factories.
