There were a lot of issue as far as how it was announced and what it is turning out to be though. Hyping up a new Diablo game, waiting till the end of the long presentation to show it and not expecting the backlash was idiotic from a marketing and pr standpoint. Then the fact the Chinese company primarily making it is known for making the same game with different skins which from the gameplay shown is what Diablo immortal is, just a reskin of that companies other games.
