I didn't find numbers for the entire UK but in July, 2020, 38,179 people died in England. 1,320 if them died of COVID-related deaths, accounting for 3.5% and coming in as number 8 in causes of death overall. The flu didn't make the list. But maybe there was a particularly virulent outbreak of the common flu elsewhere in the UK? Where did you get your number?
