The scene they were filming was where they were all at the table, so the big actors, not the stand-ins had to be in the scene. So because he had to be larger than dwarves and hobbits, he had to do his scene and then the others had to do the scene separately so that they could be added together to get the sizing correctly.

Uh, no. It is most definitely the older woman's fault for being an ass whether it's warranted or not. Even if she hadn't had a disability, the older woman is still an ass the same as the college girl would be an ass.

Apparently, their original origin wasn't Magento's children, and to fit within the MCU, they actually brought that original origin back recently.

Actually, there are diseases that literally make it impossible for people to control their weight. People can diet and exercise as much as they want and only gain weight. Medicine, say to fix things like mental illness, can cause weight gain. Many do. Just because a person is overweight doesn't mean they don't try as hard as they possibly can to not be. Sometimes it simply can't be changed. So yes, weight is something that CANNOT be controlled for some people.
