I'm a zookeeper and I hear things like this all the time. One lady got really mad at me because the lions were sleeping. When I told her lions sleep 20 hours a day, she just asked "cant you wake them up!?". Another guest actually argued with me on whether or not the animals he was looking at were hyenas. When I politely said they were African wild dogs and sometimes mistaken for hyenas he said "I went to college. Those are hyenas". The worst part was he had a kid with him.

Wait...Its not the eye? 8 comments

Fun fact: that spot is called an "eye spot". Many aquatic species have that in order to fool threats and predators into thinking that's the actual eye since the eyeballs are the most vulnerable part of most animals. So if prey tries to fight back they'll be hitting the orca in this spot rather than the actual eye.

These people are breaking the law. Getting within 150 ft of a marine mammal is illegal in the US and Canada for their safety.

Pretty sure it's worth it to have healthy kids. Also remember portion sizes. Most kids eat 2 or 3 times more than needed. Personally I like certain food stamp programs like Wic that only allow healthy items. I cant stand it when I see people using food stamps to buy doritos like even processed food can be somewhat healthier than that.

One of my closest friends grew up on food stamps with a single mom and she said her mom insisted on a healthy diet and plenty of outside playtime. I cant stand the "healthy food is too expensive" trope its BS

THANK YOU. some states actually do consider it child abuse. If a child has a diet related health issue (such as a heart attack or high cholesterol) social services will look into it.

It's not the regulations and it's not the media. If you're so unhealthy that you're wearing a 5XL it's your fault or whomever raised you. Sure some people even at a healthy weight will be size L or XL but when your so big you need 3 or 5XL that's nothing more than excessive eating and lack of healthy lifestyle. Your. Fucking. Fault.

I have a friend who used to be "friends with" Merida at Disney World. She said something similar happened to her and it made her day. Another woman who is "friends with" Cruella De Vil said a whole family dressed as dalmatians came to see her and she loved it.

Taking up two seats with fat and only paying for one seat is the equivalent of putting your bag in a seat so someone cant sit there but not paying for it.
You use two seats you pay for two seats what is so "prejudice" about that?
How is someone who only takes up one seat and pays for only that seat "privileged"?

I think of it as similar to smoking. Nowadays it's not uncommon for someone to approach a stranger and say something like "dont you know the dangers of smoking? You're killing yourself. And you're making things harder for everyone else with your buts and secondhand smoke. Surely someone told you how dangerous that is. You should stop." Usually when they say they cant stop the response is they're too lazy or dont care about their own health (my boyfriend quit smoking a couple years back). Doctors can help with practices and products as well. And usually a doctor is unafraid to say "this is causing major harm you need to stop". So why cant I go to an obese person at McDonalds and say the same thing? Nowadays people call obesity a "disability" and use it to get parking tags or scooters that they dont need (actually walking more would help them).and some doctors have admitted they're afraid to tell their patients they're clearly killing themselves for fear of offending someone.

Genetics play a big role I won't deny that, but there is a healthy weight for everyone...ask a doctor or nutritionist they'll tell you. Being curvy or husky is normal. Everyone should not be a size 2 that's equally unhealthy. But being so excessively large you take up more than one airplane seat is a clear sign of excessive weight that could lead to major health problems. And some people are never going to be the media image of good looking and that's unfortunate...but surely they notice when they begin to gain so much weight that just walking becomes a chore. When they are 2 or even 3 times as large as other people on the street.

It's not about being thin or conforming to society, it's about being healthy. Someone's healthy weight depends on their age, body type, height, and genetics, but for the most part a healthy weight will not be very big, even for someone who is naturally curvy. But being fat implies an unhealthy and overweight person. This is a self inflicted problem due to lack of healthy diet and excessive. There's a little overweight then there's fat, excessive weight. If you ignore your own health for so long you go from overweight to husky to just plain fat...its your fault.

They already messed up Beauty and the Beast and Cindella and The Jungle Book
Also how can they call it "live action" if it's one or two actors in front of a bunch of green screen CGI?

Well I wouldn't work for them if I didn't believe they take good care of their animals. And even at some of the smaller facilities I worked at before a lot of the animal rescues were assisted by SeaWorld. And going there as a kid was one of the things that inspired me to work with animals. I supported them long before and long after my employment:D
