there's being clinically depressed, and then there's whining all the time. if it's the latter, and just "uuugh my life sucks because I didn't get this-" "I can't be bothered to do that" - then I'm glad your mother is telling you to get over it. If it's a medical case, then obviously it's not a good way to approach it. But if you're just whining about everything all the time, then you do need to just get over it- exaggerating how miserable you are for pity just makes everybody around you miserable too. If you're actually ill, then they should support you.

ladybirds and badgers. nature was kind to our little island. But we paid a high price...the weather is like a girl who's on her period-and we're the tampon.

Marvel shits on DC. Always has, always will 24 comments

depends on your type of thing. I've always thought Marvel was more family friendly type movies, more open to young kids- with DC sort of being teen and up. I think Marvel is best if you're looking for high action adventure, but DC if you want better character insights and relationships. I prefer DC because you get the bonding. E.G. the Batman franchaise- especially the comics, you can tell DC is doing their best to supply you with realistic relationships and feelings (e.g. love interests, batman and robins etc). I always feel like Marvel relationships are rushed (excluding in The Amazing Spider Man) and less relatable, but I think Marvel give more imaginative stories, while DC sort of repeats the whole brooding hero.

that's not true. a lot of atheists say "I don't believe in god" and a lot of Christians say "God does exist". neither side have 100% proof. neither side are totally innocent to keeping on their side of the fence.

fair enough so long as it's noyt condescending. "feel sorry for you" "I hope you finds peace with god".

my parents are the type that see a kid throwing a tantrum and comment "i'd give em a good smack if I were their parent." and yet these are the parents who had a daughter who communicated through screams, grunts and ruined her aunt's wedding and never dreamed of beating

it's partially preparing for the future. In a job interview, or the job itself, you'll be expected to comply with the dress code- if you have to come in a black jacket and trousers and a white blouse- you do it, or else kiss that job goodbye! It's about learning to keep in line and stick to the rules. Besides, if you let one girl get off with breaking the rules- then the others will start pushing it- and by then it'll be difficult to rein it in. And if they can't control it- they could bring in a uniform. Don't push your boundaries, because if you do then they'll just set them higher.

guest- as another Christian myself, I will remind you that God gave free-will to EVERYBODY. therefore, they can choose whether to believe in him or not- if certain members of every religion didn't try to force it down their throats, you can be sure that atheists wouldn't feel the need to hit back so defensively. In short- EVERYBODY MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!!

to me, being an atheist means that somebody might not believe in god- but that doesn't mean they aren't open to his existence. My friend is atheist- but she chooses not to believe simply because she doesn't like the idea of not having control of her life, or the idea that she's just a piece in a bigger picture that god's making. But she's still open to the fact that there could be a god- she just doesn't like the idea in it herself, so she chooses not to. God (in almost every religion) gave free-will for a reason, atheism and religion need to learn that if their chosen God/s is willing to let people choose, then they have to too.

yeah, I think the idea of soulmate means that they've always had feelings deep down- like they've subconsciously already fallen inlove. you might not like it at first- but that love deep down will slowly come up-they wouldn't be your soul mate otherwise. I personally would love that to happen to me :)

how is this an unpopular opinion? EVERYBODY favours the bad guy these days. I might be one of the few people left on earth who still route for the hero.
