I agree with you in that toby mcguire had a closer average look to him similar to peter parker from the comics, but it was all wrong in every other aspect. The personality of the new spiderman is much closer to the comics. The sarcasm and the little snide remarks that a nerd would make to bullies under his breath are much more in keeping with the comic spiderman. Also toby mcguire spiderman was wrong because they gave him the ability to shoot webs from his own body. That's not how it was originally. The new spiderman got it right.
All that being said, I enjoyed the toby trilogy because hey, spiderman, but the new spiderman is much closer to the comic as a whole.
