You have a good point, Most of these are examples, and simply that.
They can be well applied and adapted/bastardised from their base format.
My Dad taught me quite a few of these and more, from his training as a policeman in interview situations/confrontations and they've helped me a lot in life, especially job interviews and social situations.
The beauty of body language is that it's universal, and it crosses most, but not all cultural divides.
