My son was in a zoom meeting with his teacher, and could see her cat walking around in the background. He asked if she would bring it closer for him to see, so she did, then my son went and grabbed our cat, Drax, and put him in front of the camera. They talked about Drax for a while, then my son grabbed our other cat, Lucy, and they talked about her for a while. Then, my son took the computer and put it in front of our dog, and his teacher brought her bird over, and they talked about them for a while. Then, my son put the computer in front of our fish tank and they talked about all the fish. It was like a 2 hour zoom meeting that was supposed to be about school work, and all they talked about were pets lol My son said, "That's distraction 101, mom" I laughed so hard when he said that...Kid is going places ;)

I love that she brought home a tarantula. I brought home a tarantula (Rosie) when I was in the 3rd grade. The daycare I was enrolled in couldn't tare care of her anymore, so I volunteered. No questions asked, they were like Cool. Problem solved! Psh, no need for parental consent lol My mom was not happy, but let me keep Rosie anyway

In my almost 13 year marriage I have brought home: Lucy the cat (found in a field and is now the glue that holds our family together haha), Daisy the cat (Lucy's sister from another mister, found in the same field), Lenny the bearded dragon (found in the middle of the road w/ a broken leg), Cupcake the Shih Tzu (happily reunited with her owner after 3 weeks), Blanca the cat (found sick in my lower field. Unfortunately I was not able to save her, she died 2 weeks later), Baxter the bunny (went out for groceries, came home with a bunny), and Drax the cat (Again, went out for groceries, came home with a cat)

Top left makes me think Sasquatch. Top right Star Trek. Bottom left looks like my dad when he was in high school. Bottom right reminds me of Dave Grohl (?)

There's no sense crying over the edges of your bookshelf, you just keep on trying 'til you run out of Conspiracy Theories, and the music gets done, and you make a neat and very cool sound for the people who are still in love

Things are dark, but the FedEx Guy saved a snail 15 comments

When I was a kid my mom taught me to pick the snails out of the garden or off the driveway, and sprinkle salt on them. She would say, "See how they bubble and squirm! Isn't that funny?!" She hated those snails SO much. I always felt bad about it, but also wanted my moms approval so I'd kind of laugh and go along with it. I grew up a little and realized how f*ed up it was to do that. Then, I thought back on it as an adult like, "Damn mom, were you trying to turn me into a serial killer? Nature is not bad for doing what it does...Snails gonna snail" Lol I honestly still feel so guilty about all the snails I've killed. Now that I have kids I teach them that all creatures deserve to live their lives, no matter how small or insignificant we may think they are. I've said this many times before, but my 10yo is like Captain Planet lol He's always trying to help the little critters
