You do realise the vast majority of South Africans of European descent are Germans, rather than Dutch or English, right?

This contains 100% genuine bullshit, made up from the textbook definitions of "cast" (to throw something) and "cast" (a mould). Also, I'm pretty sure that when the term "break a leg" came up, "the cast" were simply referred to as "the players"...

"Break a leg" is usually only used in anglophone countries, because of theater superstition. The French will wish you "merde" (literally, shit), as a way of wishing bad luck so you'll have good luck. In Italy they'll wish you "in bocca al lupo" into the wolf's mouth (i.e. get eaten by the wolf). Every country with a strong theatrical tradition has its own variation on these.

No... just woolly stockings. He's an Evzones guard at some important location in Greece. The stockings are called Periskelides and the silk garters are the Epiknemides.

This is a celebrated Viking hero working through his feelings, to the best of his Viking way, dealing with the loss of a friend who was a Christian.
There's nothing like friendship forged through adversity.

also, some diseases mutate over time and gain resistance to vaccines... so the vaccine you took 20 years ago might not be effective against a particular strain of a virus. this is very true of influenza (flu) shots.

I think psychologists have a name for this behavior, like you're overcompensating for a lack of attention in your past. Also @bethorien, unfortunately some people misinterpret this as a need for attention, like someone pointed out, parents when you leave for college or something... They're asking "are you OK?" when what they're really saying is "talk to me".
