Naming viruses after the location in which they first were found is an extremely common and long running practice. It's stupid of the media to even make it an issue but hey it's an election year so anything goes right?

Was it state or privately funded? If it was state, then yes it's a rather poor choice. If it was privately funded, then opinions about it mean less than than year old take out in the back of a fridge..

If he was anything like the rest of us, he probably just downloaded most of the programing including the language portion. It's extremely unlikely he wrote whatever they use as code and included all those millions of languages.

I can't think of any way this would work. Instead, given the amount of already enable GPS devices included in vehicles issuing a ticket automatically whenever you fail to follow the rules of the road would work much better, think the 5th Element. This would be much easier to implement and I would hate it.

You would absolutely notice the difference. The difference you mentioned is between the closest and farthest distance the earth travels from the sun. At it closest adding the 1.5 million km would place the earth just out of the Goldilock zone. Given the atmospheric changes that would occur much of the globe would be a death sentence for humans. Humans can survive in temperatures up to around 140 degrees (F) if they can sweat to cool down. The humidity would rise drastically due to a major greenhouse effect the would occur. This would mean without outside cooling the human body would cook itself to death.

1.5 million km. That's how far the earth would need to be moved to make it uninhabitable.

Not really mysterious. It's rather well documented. That's not to say we know all there is to know about it but we know quite a bit in general. history . com/topics/ancient-middle-east/petra

I love Risk but I have the absolute worst luck with the dice. Want to see some roll three 1s multiple time in a game? Just play against me. My record is 7 times in one game. There is nothing worse than attacking someone with overwhelming force only to be defeated by a 2.

Other than being a bit slower than normal there's nothing that stands out as being different from when everyone was working.

A trick if you're bladder shy is to do multiplication tables in your head. The part of your brain that stops you because you're bladder shy is also the part that you have to use to do the tables. It cancels out effect and lets you urinate. It's not instantaneous but it works.

I just like that someone has made a car that actually looks like one of those future cars you see in movies.

My wife wanted to microwave rice in a sock to use as a heating pad. Turns out, we had no rice, but we had popcorn kernels. I really don't know why she was expecting a different result -Red(dit)

Well it may be the best iphone ever it's just not the best cell phone ever. When the only standard you use is your previous models, it's not really that hard to best them.

The closest In n Out to me is 1142 miles and would take an estimated 92hrs by bicycle. If I did this and didn't lose weight it's probably because I got killed attempting to get there or back.

Congratulations you just killed it. It'll just take longer for it to die. House spiders have developed to live inside. It'd be a bit like dropping you in the middle of the Sahara. Unless you already live there you're probably going to die.

Fun fact the US consumes more cheese than any two other countries combined. But per capita Denmark consumes the most at 28.1kg (61.95lbs).
