And just like that every birthday cake those kids see for the rest of their lives is tainted with this memory.

Power can be synonymous with inequality 22 comments

They're also saying the exact same thing about rights. "It's not about your right to free speech it's about power". These are the exact same people that will tell you cancel culture doesn't exist and in same sentence tell you why people should be canceled. The only thing thing I see is a bunch of hypocrites that want power and to get it they're telling everyone else how bad they are for normal things or things you can't possibly change. It's the same thing over and over. The blanket "it's not about (blank) it's about power" and everyone knows you shouldn't want power because power = bad. Except of course for what they want then it's alright to want power because they know how to handle it. Bunch of self serving self aggrandizing "woke" individuals. These are the kind of toxic small minded people that everyone should be actively fighting against.

Totally thought that was supposed to be a Japanese word and was completely confused. Made way more sense when I realized it was Jewish.

The mega plus is 1 for every 4.5 regular rolls. Double plus is 1 for every 2.25 or 2.26 or 2.27 regular rolls so this one is questionable. The plain mega is 1 for every 4 regular roll.

It's just reaching out to their customer base. You've got people out there that can't read Pistachio but know it's a green nut.

Is internet access a public utility yet? 21 comments

Correct me if I'm wrong but about 5-10 years ago I heard or read somewhere that, Harvard specifically, but most Ivy League schools actually made their money from patents. And that even if they let all the students go there for free they would still come out well in the green. Now if that's true then it would be reasonable to reduce tuition for a pure online year. Since if it's true they'd still be making plenty to cover expenses you've listed.

The phenomenon of old guys wearing pants like this is due to how the male body ages. The butt loses it's shape and flattens out. This means that their belts don't have anything to catch on to hold their pants up. So what do they do? They pull their pants up past their stomachs so that they can use their belts to keep their pants from falling down.

Faerie's aire and death waltz 4 comments

I'm not sure what piece they were playing but it doesn't match the piece of music here. So either they aren't playing the Death Waltz, which was a joke and not meant to be be played, or the picture is really wrong. Apparently it's really common to mistake the Death Waltz with other physically impossible to play pieces.

VV cool Mexico 1 comments

Not saying that it wasn't cool of them but at the same time Mexico still had indentured servitude. When Mexico freed their slaves they then immediately placed them in indentured servitude for 99 years. This would include any children born from parents that were indentured. Basically all they did was change the legal definition of slaves to indentured servants. Now, most people didn't have slaves nor did they have indentured servants in either country. By the time of the American Civil war it's estimated that only 9% of the people owned slaves. I'm not sure what percentage in Mexico but I'd guess it would have had "indentured servants" but I'd bet it'd be similar.
