Most descriptions say a scourge of cords which is just a bunch or ropes or cords connected by a single handle. However, after spending the time making that, he never actually hit anyone with it. He's described as throwing over or dumping the money exchangers tables. Knocking over the pigeon sellers chairs and shooing out the oxen, sheep, and they're handlers. I presume this because the pigeons were in cages and would have flown away but the sheep and oxen would have been stuck in the courtyard. The money exchangers would have been forced to stop their business and pick up all they're coins. All the while this irate man is yelling and waiving about a weapon, quoting religious laws that they're breaking and basically shaming anyone who let them do business there.

Just another person misconstruing something from the past and trying to make it work for today's issues. This wasn't about men dressing as women. This was about style. Color. Pizazz. Things which were discourage in the fashion at the time. The author wasn't being sarcastic or facetious, or hinting at something. They meant exactly what they said. This is exactly why the 20's was full of riotous clothing. Sure there were alot of other reasons but "rebelling" against the normal fashion is something every generation does.

It's my opinion, that they're trying to imply that a very particular group of people are responsible. Given the hint of last name it's likely it was a vague attempt at antisemitism.

The eye patch was worn to enable them to go below deck and still be able to see. They would switch it between eyes as they moved above and below. I'm sure some of them lost an eye but that wasn't what the eye patch was used for typically.

I knew some people like this in college. They had never seen leaves change color in the fall. Never seen snow. Of course being a Floridian I don't consider Hurricanes as much more than an inconvenience and people lose their minds over them.

Had a guy I went to basic with that was '6"8. The only question I ever asked him regarding his height was, how are his knees? The stress put on joints when you're that big is tremendous. Turns out I was just predicting the future. He needed to get knee surgery in order to stay in the Army.

Meh, I've bled more than that on many occasions. Doesn't even take a serious injury, any almost to the bone cut on a finger or thumb will easily bleed that much. You don't even need to cut through muscle, just through the dermis.

Assuming standard weights and that the weights are indeed the largest of those used for benching, that's only 405 lbs. That's still a freaking lot to be close gripping but shame on her for not having spotters. She's gonna get someone really hurt if they follow her example.
