An electromagnetic pulse won't do anything to Tony's suit since he powers it with multiple energy sources, including the arc reactor in his chest. He has also built protection into his suit because he knows an emp is something his enemies will try and use against him so he can sense it and stop it before it happens. The only thing batman will do is fuck up his batmobile and leave himself defenseless so Iron Man can kill him.

You know, if everybody would figure out the rest of the story, maybe the REASON the US, did that, that'd be great.
