fun fact the city of Petra in Jordan was made with the same technique not due to coincidence but because it was made by traders that traveled from the Mediterranean to india and they were familiar with architecture from all the areas they traveled

yeah most swords are safe to touch, a razor blade chips in battle and then is useless. some swords are made of very hard mettle and can take a fine edge but most are about as sharp as a butter knife. with a blade that long and curved it would not need to be very sharp to cut you in half.

yeah the funny part of losing back at Tolkien is that things that seem like tropes are actually original, they only became tropes after he invented half the stuff that we take for granted in modern fantasy.

see what i don't get is why anyone has a problem with this bit of our culture. and i mean this sincerely, people are going out of their way to post sexy pictures of themselves and everyone is harping on them, now it might not be a perfect situation i'll grant and it feels a bit like they are objectifying themselves for attention and approval but can't we deal with it a bit more calmly and enjoy it a little bit?

actually there is a literal debate about this in the anthropology community. It boils down to there being people to complain about it when you do it mostly.

i think the impulse may have started because there are a couple of famous cultures that had masculine looking armor. The greeks (spartans especially) put enhanced musculature on there breastplates. that normalized the behavior for men and then since they were already doing that for men it was easy to switch over to doing the same for women without thinking of all the repercussions of the choice.

no, that is an oversimplification. It eats alge and one of the things it extracts are the chloroplasts that it then uses to continue to generate more sugar
