FUN FACT: Apparently, when a ritual calls for "blood of a virgin" it actually means "virgin blood" as in blood that has never been used in any sort of ritual before. So as long as your blood or probably any other part of you hasn't been used in some sort of ritual/sacrifice already, you can still be sacrificed.

Oh, God, muffin, I feel you. Like I still identify with the Catholic faith, so seeing "homosexuality" listed as a mortal sin when I go to confession is hard. Being bi has its advantages in this kind of situation because I usually lowkey have a crush on a guy so I don't have to lie or anything if someone asks me.
And then I go to this Christian youth group that's literally in a church and SO MANY TIMES will one of the adults go on about some famous person who "struggled with same-sex attraction" but then converted to Christianity and "saw the light" and now is in a straight relationship and makes Christian music and I'm just there smiling sweetly along but inside I'm just "bisexuals exist. You don't 'struggle' with same-sex attraction. You can be conflicted about being gay. But it's not like it's drugs. I'm not on drugs because I like my best friend. I don't struggle with having a crush on another girl. The only struggle involved is that she's straight."

Because that's what the companies benefit from. You tell a woman she's less than perfect and she'll believe you, because that's what she's been conditioned to think. So you offer a product that will make her better and she buys it. Tell a man he's perfect and he'll believe you. There's no use in trying to convince them to buy something that will make them better if they already believe -the world rotates around their dick- I mean they're perfect.

And that is a problem. The question then stands: which is more beneficial, the message the post is trying to convey, or the message the book is trying to convey?
The thing is, they're conveying the same message. It's just that one has been and will be seen by thousands, while the only time I've ever heard of this book is through this post.
I personally stand on the side of the post, but I can see your point, and I respect it if you stand on the side of the book. It's quite an interesting debate, really, about what exactly the post means and is it a good or bad post.

I realize that. But the thing is, at least if you're anything like me, you don't take posts seriously. You reblog what catches your attention for more than two seconds. You don't research a post. Because you've been conditioned to judge a book by its title and cover. Because that's what the title and cover are for.

Ever heard those old stories or riddles of someone being stabbed but no weapon found, and it turned out they were stabbed with an icicle? It's the same concept. I even vaguely recall someone telling me about a story they read where a woman beat her husband to death with a lamb's leg, and when the police came, she had cooked it and fed it to them. No murder weapon if the weapon was eaten, right?

Yes, but, a stick can be a better murder weapon. Think about it. One the one hand, the knife. You have to wash it, and even then, you could miss something and have your fingerprints or the victims' blood still left on it. The stick, however, is much easier to get rid of. Its biodegradable nature lets you simply throw it into the woods (which there are plenty of around Bailey's farm), or it's simple to burn. While the knife is still in play, there's no way to trace it back to a murder. The furthest it could get a person is to London, who could easily just say she used it to whittle something, which, technically, isn't even a lie. If they ask where that final product is, then she didn't like it. It was thrown away, or burned, because it didn't turn out right.

While I agree with the comment, one can see a deeper meaning in the original post. Any given person seeing this on their dash isn't likely to know the book and what it's about. So we judge it by it's cover, because THAT'S WHAT COVERS ARE FUCKING FOR. But still. Anyway.
You catch their attention. Because in school you're always taught to "use a descriptive title" for your essays and short stories (if your Language Arts classes are anything like mine), the person thinks it's a book most likely written by some guy telling girls how to change themselves for guys to like them. They think that's what it's about, so they disagree with this book. They do not like its ideals. So the burning of the book is pleasing to them.
It's not about destroying the book. It's about destroying the society and thoughts the cover represents.

Basically it means the comment's in the negatives for likes. There's no way to figure out how far exactly down it is, aside from being able to know whether it's -1 or not. (if you upvote it, close out of comments page and reopen/refresh, and it's at 0, it was -1, if it's still got a triangle, it was -2 or less.)
