The problem would be that insurance companies wouldn't likely insure something like that and on top of that how much that would invariably cost the individual cop monetarily. Insurance isn't cheap already and adding more to the costs to the individual while at the same time people are advocating for the defunding of police forces is not a recipe for a good outcome imo.

Create civilian oversight committees to police the police
End the practice of private prisons
Increase the number of lesser courts (specifically ones that deal with fines and non-violent offenses)
End the drug war
Repeal the patriot act
Invest heavily in education and in economic development in subpar areas of cities
If we end the education and economic disparities crime will decline which in turn will make an overzealous police force even more unnecessary.
