racist. It doesn't matter which form of prejudice it is, that's the way it works for sexism, people who are bigotted against gays, people who judge based on weight, people who judge based on social class. So sure, I'm white, and you can go ahead and think "oh, she has no right to say this isn't racist" but the fact is, racism is NOT the only form of prejudice out there. My mom is a single waitress raising three children and you have no idea how many people judge us for our social class. I live in a very religious area, and I have an unusual sexuality, and I worry every day about whether or not the people I interact with would accept me if I came out to them. My little sister is black and my baby brother is hispanic and I swear to God almighty, if something were prejudiced in any way, I would be tearing it down.

Oh my goodness, Lime, you can have whatever opinion you want, but if you put a white term in for a black term and it isn't racist, then it isn't freaking racist. Nothing is racist just because of the race you're talking about. If you're find with calling people white then calling people black is just as okay. Racism is not determined by which words you're using or who you're speaking about/to, or who 'feels' that it's 'racist', racism is when the person SPEAKING is discriminating between races, no matter which race they're discriminating against. That is racism. It might feel offensive to you, but it is not racist unless the person SPEAKING IT is discriminating. Asking what race we are is so you can judge us (don't say it isn't - why else would you ask? You want to know so that you can judge whether or not we have a right to say something is racist and whether or not you can say that we're just white and we don't have any idea what racism is) is going to lead to YOU doing something

How would you know if you were unfollowed?

Maybe, maybe not. It's stressed and miserable, certainly.

Calling someone racist is being hateful, and I don't see anyone else being hateful towards you. I thought you were unfollowing?

... I never said you didn't have friends or that you were a social outcast, but do you have a job, are you able to take criticism to get better?

I don't have any idea how old you are and I haven't heard any of your ideas, I'm sorry that people 'curse you out' but I don't believe that that's my problem. And you probably weren't born with sensitive feelings, you just choose to look at everything as something you should be upset about or an attack on you. My sister is the same way, and both of you have a problem BECAUSE you are going to have one hell of a time functioning in society, just like people with health issues or a mental illness. The difference is, you CAN change how sensitive you are by not looking at it as "that is offensive" and by looking at it as "hey, this post is a kid, and that song is helping others" or if someone says something about you you can go "YOU'RE A DICK" or you can get over it and be like "hey, maybe I should actually work on that". You can't fix everyone else any more than I can fix you, only you can make the decision to change, just like only we can.

Then maybe you should try being less sensitive. I'm sorry, that seems really rude, but if that song hurts you but you go and say things like you're racist/assholes/bastards or "who listens to your opinions", you have a serious issue that needs to be resolved. I'm sorry that it hurt you that someone posted a revised version of that song, but frankly, you don't have any right in my eyes to be hurt by that... :/ This isn't meant to be offensive or hurtful, so what are you going to do when people actually mean to hurt you? In my opinion, people really need to lighten up. If you can't take a supportive message or teasing, then you're going to die in the real world, or end up a hermit who cuts down all the trees because they looked at you funny.

Why add one more by calling people pathetic? If every single person stopped saying "the world is full of assholes" and started to say "I won't be an ass" the world would have a lot less assholes.

Erm... why does it matter? It's a joke, why does it matter if it's a real picture or not?

There are lots of things you can do that could insult someone, Lime, but as the message is one of /support/ I think that this is one of the least hurtful things on Funsubstance.

I agree fullheartedly - but people should be considerate enough to not tell people to do things like that.

Okay, the customer might have been displeased and wanted to talk to the manager, but if the manager fires you for trying to politely explain why you can't do anything, he isn't human.

It's not dissing black people any more than the actual version is dissing homosexuals. I'm a lesbian and my sister's black and trust me, neither this song nor any version of it that takes a similar stance is bigoted in any way. It being a free world does not mean that people are supposed to respect you calling someone else racist when they aren't. No one is being even a little bit of an ass towards you, they just are sick of you trying to say that someone is racist when they explained that if you listened to it, it clearly isn't a racist/homophobic song. Saying "Lime -.-" does not make someone a bastard, nor does explaining shit.

Sarcastic or not, that comment could really hurt someone who already has low self-esteem....
EDIT: Especially since it's such a sensitive topic and clearly those women aren't fat. *shrug* I would prefer not to end up with more average-weight girls trying to starve themselves to be "pretty".

I don't care if people know about me, I care that the government did something illegal and then when someone exposed it he had to flee the country. I care that our government is corrupt, not that they know that I ate a bacon cheeseburger two minutes ago. So thanks, I'll bitch about the NSA all I want.

It's the worst, because my family is a million times lazier and more self-serving than I am, but when I want them to so much as respect me, I'm selfish, ungrateful, and lazy.

I'm pretty sure if the employee had actually explained why the ice can't be on the bottom politely and not flipped her off, that wouldn't have happened. :| Logical customer service: treat the customer with respect, no matter how stupid they are.

Just because someone on the screen told you to doesn't make it the only reason. It's just a contributing factor that should be eliminated. No one kills themselves just because someone on the internet said so, they do it because someone on the internet said so, and they have nothing to live for, and their grandmother died last week. But the person on the internet could have supported them rather than being an ass and maybe a life could have been saved.
