What? So what security is in place to stop someone stealing a card and just going on a spending spree?

Not sure about the carbon copy bit but from what I can gather you have to sign, I imagine like it used to be in the UK where you hand your card to the cashier, the till prints a receipt, customer signs it, the cashier checks the signature compared to the back of the card and keeps that copy and presses ok and it prints another receipt for the customer.

I just googled because I thought surely this is a mistake, and yep they don't have contactless or at least not as widespread as other countries and in fact even chip and pin is more advanced than it gets in America. That's what this meme is referring to. I initially though swipe must mean contactless but nope it means the old fashioned swipe and sign the receipt method.

Depends what sort of party, 6 beers per person with no other drinks isn't going to be enough at a typical British house party

My mum bought some VHS tapes from a charity shop so she could show my brothers and me, I'm glad there's videos of him on YouTube now, his humour is so innocent and silly.

Individuals can write to their MPs though (not sure what the term is in the US, their local politician) and look to vote with their wallets for companies who are sustainable and eco-friendly.
Also, the danger with the war on plastic is that it is detracting from and actually feeding into the problem of greenhouse gases, sometimes plastic is more carbon friendly than other packaging for instance.

So after the watershed (9pm) TV is allowed to be more adult with swearing, nudity etc. The advert in the post is definitely fake though, it has The Poke's watermark on it which is a satirical site.

I think it's the largest "man-made structure" and can be seen from space, in the Atlantic Ocean I believe.

The oldest house in the UK that's still being lived in was built in the 12th century and there is a church that is still in use that was built between 660 and 662
