There's also a Preston in the UK and vocab is similar, although the male police officer's hat shows that it's not UK

Reverse image search suggests it's in Tasmania, Australia.

Pyjamas generally or these style particularly because I have some in a similar style (not the same print) and can assure you I would be useless in a fight

I didn't see it originally (maybe because I only really go on the 'popular' page) but out of interest how long ago does a post have to be to not count as a repost if posted again?

I imagine because her partner wouldn't be suspicious of a nurse taking his partner off to the shower alone compared to if the nurse asked him to leave the room so she can talk to her. Also, if she does need to talk and takes a bit longer when she returns there is the excuse of needing help from the nurse for checking stitches or getting in/out of the shower.

Wish I could upvote this for just the first section, it's still not a double standard though because smell =/= size

This was originally a Reddit post and yes I think it was Switzerland, but Tolkein got most of his landscape inspiration from England

My friend was cooking at the same time as watching something on TV, she went to ask Alexa how long left on her timer but before she could the TV show had the dialogue "Tell me the truth" Alexa responded "You can't handle the truth!"

Lampposts in the UK are increasingly being replaced with LED bulbs as well, it results in patches of very bright lit up pavement then a plunge into darkness before being dazzled again.

That's fair enough but not being certain and not having a clue are two different matters entirely

I think L-R top row is sycamore, birch or elm, some kind of pine and bottom row; English oak, possibly cherry, and not sure about the other one. If you taught tree identification for 5 years I'm surprised you don't recognise any of them.

What? So what security is in place to stop someone stealing a card and just going on a spending spree?

Not sure about the carbon copy bit but from what I can gather you have to sign, I imagine like it used to be in the UK where you hand your card to the cashier, the till prints a receipt, customer signs it, the cashier checks the signature compared to the back of the card and keeps that copy and presses ok and it prints another receipt for the customer.

I just googled because I thought surely this is a mistake, and yep they don't have contactless or at least not as widespread as other countries and in fact even chip and pin is more advanced than it gets in America. That's what this meme is referring to. I initially though swipe must mean contactless but nope it means the old fashioned swipe and sign the receipt method.
