How does it simultaneously look so like and completely not like Bruce Willis?

I had a body scrub that said something like "Use twice a week, or more often if you've ever been called 'Old Lizard Legs' by your friends"

Sean Astin did not guide Helicopters into Mordor just to be remembered for Stranger Things 5 comments

I have the DVDs of the extended versions, but only ever seem to have time to watch the cinema versions. I need to plan in a day or two (or three) to watch everything!

Yes you'll let them do all that but I guarantee there'll be stuff they want to do that a lot of Gen X won't 'get' it is the inevitable endless cycle.

Oh, haha! Wouldn't that be narrower than it being II parallel, therefore unless you're particularly tall having less benefits?

6ftx6ft so super king width (that's what they're called in UK anyway) but only single bed length

I've never even thought of NUT as nut because everyone says it as N-U-T, will read it as Nut every time now!

They don't, their teeth look good cosmetically but are worse than Brits in terms of number of fillings etc

Can somebody prove this wrong, please?? 15 comments

Up until into the Victorian times people tended to sleep in two shifts, generally from 8-midnight then wake up for a couple of hours to read, pray, go for a walk or have sex then sleep again 2-6. I can't remember why this fell out of practise, I think it was linked to the industrial revolution somehow. I have thought about trying it for myself to see if I feel better rested in the morning.

I have felt this way about many big life decisions, university, jobs, houses, in the end I went to uni, changed jobs, bought a house, all ended up being good decisions which would have been even better if I'd done them earlier. Currently using this past experience to help work up the courage to commit to trying for a baby.

No but it is well documented that out gay actors are passed over for straight roles, directors should be aware of unconscious bias when hiring.

You missed the part where I said "could act" I'm not talking about hiring a random person off the street.

Let's make her perfectly reasonable request seem ludicrous by mocking her... imagine if a gay woman of colour who could also act actually existed, what will these liberal idiots think of next!?

It can't be that bad 2 comments

I think a lot of people who say British/American food is bad are people who have gone on holiday from one place to the other which can be an expensive trip already then haven't budgeted for decent food. I don't know about the US but a guaranteed decent meal in the UK costs upwards of £40 for 3 courses without drinks

The proper Lego Millennium Falcon kit costs a fortune so using generic bricks to make one would be cheaper and would require using the bricks imaginatively.

As a German I can confirm 5 comments

A British couple decided to adopt a German baby. They raised him for years, however they began to get worried because he never spoke, going as far as to take him to therapy, which was fruitless. Then, when the child was 8 years old, he had a strudle, and said "This strudle is a little tepid."
His parents, of course shocked that he was suddenly speaking, asked: "Wolfgang, why have you never spoken before?", to which the child replied: "Up until now, everything had been satisfactory."
