My dad had the patience of a saint helping me with my maths homework, my teacher on the other hand was horrid, picked holes in the methods my dad taught me (even though I understood his and not hers) and made me cry. She's one of the reasons I wanted to be a teacher because I didn't want any children to feel the way she made me feel.

The best bit of this article was the zookeeper saying he hopes they'll break the habit within the colonies he's now placed them with but went on to say "If I end up with 250 swearing birds I don't know what I'm going to do"

I've said it before on a post similar to this, the book Fearney talks about this kind of thing, it's a very odd read but has stayed with me

Completely agree on the movies, I managed to make myself watch the first 4 then had to give up because they are so terrible and miss out loads of great storylines in favour of what is now crap CGI broom flying

I read of a parent who told their child that the bin men wanted some art work to brighten up the lorry and maybe they could "donate" some of their paintings by putting them in the recycling!

A. British people who don't know how to cook rice.
This is how my parents used to cook rice, no rinsing before, boil it, drain then rinse.

This is so accurate, but I've also been told I "look like a princess" if I've worn a maxi skirt so easy come, easy go!

The best 'foreign' flavour to me are paprika which are common across Europe but not found so much in the UK
