Please correct me if I'm wrong but are you asking if the discs act as their reproductive organ? If that's your question, then no, the discs don't serve that purpose.

Well, it depends wholly on your emotional state. And by that I mean, whether you're a detached person or naive or mature or do you get easily attached.
